There is a modernist cottage location on the show that plays a turning point in the characters’ relationship, so I guess that’s what Judy and Michaela are trying to sell with their event.

Lesbians adore Heated Rivalry and other gay male romances. You have to understand that a fairly significant portion of modern lesbians met and fell in love via fujo-ing out together. I can't tell you how many lesbian cosplayers love dressing up as their favorite gay male couples.

The "dress up in your dykiest jersey or dreamiest cottagecore fits" bit is actually sending me, tho. If they're doing a "Heated Rivalry" themed event, you would not go for cottagecore fantasy. It's painfully obvious neither of them actually watched or even glanced through a summary of the series and are just trying to cash in on the hot new thing.

Her obvious ambivalence towards Heated Rivalry that she disguises as love is so funny to me. It's okay to not like something the other queers like, Jude. It's fine. You can just be yourself.
