Can we please stay on topic, guys? You just went on a tangent about IP laws and personal goals for far too long. A lot of us only come here to see what is going on with Phil. Can we keep his shenanigans the focus, please?

Now, I will admit it was far too coincidental that all of these strikes happened RIGHT before Phil's big vacation. Now he has alot of extra money and a backlog of videos to post during his vacation once DSPGaming is back up.

But can someone really impersonate Rockstar games and STRIKE channels?? How is that allowed by Youtube without verification that they are legit?

This was expected to happen, but its funny that all of his "fans" gave him money for a non-emergency.

What are the negatives to having a channel with two strikes on it, because if those Rockstar strikes stick what could that do to him?
Recall that it is a big negative if the strikes were to remain on DSP's account while with Curse.

I've been thinking ever since Vidar and the viewbots. Would it be reasonable to assume that Phil could have possibly asked one of his fans to file a fake copyright strike against his channel so he could get extra money out of this?

His full tweet.

The strikes may be a complete hoax. If it is, it is a crime, as YouTube requires plaintiffs filing DMCA claims to do so under penalty of perjury. I would laugh so hard if it were someone in SoK who did this and got caught.
If they are indeed from a Gmail account, they are 100% fake. Could be a detractor, but I'd follow Deepthroat's advice and "follow the money": Phil is the one who ends up benefiting from these copyright strikes due to the influx of donations.

EDIT: It may be a crime to fill phony DMCA claims, but it's nothing new on Youtube - how many people did lose channels over that in the past? And how many perpetrators were punished?

Huh, isn't that a fucking coincidence. Almost like this was planned, or something.
Unlikely. One of Phil's defining traits is that he's a lazy moron. The strikes were issued by someone else, he went into full begging mode because that is just his nature and in the end everything cleared up naturally. Just another instance of his cockroach luck - someone tried to fuck with him but in the end they just set him up with $800+ before his vacation.

I do agree he's lazy but I don't think this plan had any work involved beyond lying. The Atlus strike was gonna be lifted before DSPgaming went in for termination (had around 3 or 4 days left), all Phil needed to do was freak people out saying DSPgaming is gone for good, and then tell them about Atlus. The only difference now is that Atlus cleared it up even earlier.

Funny how yesterday none of these "facts" were brought up. Nothing about phony gmail accounts or Atlus only having a few days left to file their counter claim. He knew none of this will amount to anything but why not turn his fan base upside down and shake out their pockets before vacation. Thank god he has no motivation or ambition to create some Heavens Gate cult or some scam aimed at the elderly.

yeah i think the worst part about it is how he packaged the whole drama as the rockstar strike being the worst part. this is exactly what he needed to happen and it would have been astonishing if Atlus didn't remove the strike this week given how long it's been. so whether the rockstar one is phony or not, the 7 day time limit was really for Atlas getting rid of their mistaken strike, not for sorting out the new one.

so at this point the worst that will happen is that the strike from rockstar sticks and phil loses curse. for the farms it's a win-win though. either the strike sticks and phil will squirm even more when he loses curse or the strike was a hoax by an a-logging detractor autist who may or may not become publicly known and provide even further lols.

Phil is the Gladstone Gander of YouTubers. He's had events in his career that realistically should've ended it years ago, but he just gets back up and bilks more e-welfare out of his legion of gullible idiot fans. You could drop a nuclear bomb on his house, and he'll emerge from the rubble going "WUUUUUT? My house is destroyed? STOOPID BUGGED BOMB MECHANICS! ACK ACK ACK ACK ACK!"

ok so yesterday, he's completely convinced that the claims are false, he ignores protocol and emails everyone he knows to drop what they're doing and fix his problem because it must be a detractor making a phony claim and trying to screw him, so he gets to play the victim and make $800 pity dollars. today, he's preemptively privating all of his rockstar videos and waiting to "confirm the validity" of the strike, as if all of a sudden he thinks it might be legitimate.

so at first pretend it's fake and you dindu nuffin to drum up pity support and rob your fans, but then act like and prepare for it being the real deal because the claims might be legit you might have actually fucked up. of course though you have to threaten to sue and defame youtube in a whiny email. what a lying, squirming piece of shit.

It was; he conveniently got the Atlus strike lifted a couple days before deadline and his staycation, which was why I think he fabricated it for child money like the shitboot he is.
Awww, I was getting my hopes up since that tweet was posted an hour ago and news about the Atlus strike were posted before that (~5h ago by DSP)...

Well he has to keep the drama alive so the money keeps rolling in. I think he realized announcing the Atlus strike was lifted was a mistake because he quickly followed up with "this is still a really bad situation you guys with the Rockstar strikes okay." If the strikes are not from Rockstar there is no problem they will be dropped he just has to wait them out but he has to keep the narrative alive that Dspgaming is in "dire straits" so he privates the videos to make his fans worry and give some money. This is another time Machinima would really have helped out. Remember how quick he got his streaming and stuff back from the famous "false copyright strikes of 2015." Their must have been a really good reason Phil "parted ways" with them that he just has not told us yet.

Really though he is bitching because he has to wait. If Dsp does not get the instant gratification he desires it goes right into tantrum mode. That Wolverine toy must have really stuck out because it had to be the ONLY time his parents said no to him. So Youtube has not gotten to him yet and he is threatening some intern who works their help desk that they are being condescending and if they don't fix this problem he will go to the papers and sue Google and win. The fact his go to threat is to sue makes me believe the settlement check theory about his back. He got one payday and now he thinks that will be the outcome for any court case he is involved in. I mean how could he lose? He is Phil Burnell and he is always in the right.
