The claim was that the bus was struck by something, which caused it to fly off the edge? No way, the impact would've moved the bus more violently. I wonder if the other motorcyclist even noticed that his buddy got turned into paste at the intersection, and if he's not permanently embedded in the wreck of the back of the other car (the front of it seems relatively unharmed, the driver gets out), he's lying dead in the middle of the intersection. The lack of attention paid to the dark thing in the intersection suggests it's just debris and the poor bastard really did get mosquito-splatted against the other car.

I realize his head took most of the impact and he's probably already dead or well on the way there, I realize that his buddies are trying their best to move him out of the way of danger, I realize it's basically a third-world country, I realize they don't have medical training, and I realize that this is probably a spur-of-the-moment thing, but trying to lift someone with head and spinal injuries like that is the worst thing you could do for his health.

Suspected cultists on Sunday night attacked Angwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, leaving 12 persons dead, in a fresh outbreak of violence that has prompted authorities to impose a 48-hour curfew in the area.

Security sources said the incident occurred at about 8:00 p.m. when residents of the community came under sporadic gunfire from unidentified armed men, suspected to be cultists, who stormed the area and shot indiscriminately.

Troops of Sector 1, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), were immediately mobilised to the scene following a distress call and moved to restore order and prevent further escalation.

A security report indicated that 12 persons were confirmed dead, while several others sustained varying degrees of injuries. The injured victims were said to have been evacuated to nearby medical facilities for treatment.

The troops subsequently cordoned off major access routes to the community and ordered residents to remain indoors while a coordinated search operation was launched to track down the attackers.

Military sources added that clearance operations were ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators and prevent further breakdown of law and order in the area.

In response to the attack, the Plateau State Government, in collaboration with security agencies, announced the imposition of a 48-hour curfew on Jos North Local Government Area with immediate effect.

The curfew, which took effect from midnight of March 29 to April 1, 2026, was aimed at restoring calm and enabling security agencies to carry out intensified operations.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Rt. Hon. Joyce Lohya Ramnap, the government condemned the attack, describing it as “barbaric and unprovoked.”

The statement assured residents that security agencies had been directed to ensure the arrest and prosecution of those responsible, while urging the public to remain calm and cooperate with ongoing investigations.

Huh, usually massacres on Christians in Nigeria is a jihadist thing. If your not aware "Cultists" is a slang term for basically what is criminal-voodoo gangs. They started as university fraternities then morphed into nation wide gangs with names like "Badoo boys", "Black axes" and "Supreme Vikings". They've done massacres before but it's usually against eachother or places affiliated with a particular cult/gang, which I suspect was the case here. Though you never know, the voodoo-murder shit in Nigeria goes deep and it's often Christian groups opposing it.

Health & safety investigators would attribute blame equally in that case. Both have a duty of care for their own and other's safety in hazardous areas. Both had the duty to be aware, observe the other and take reasonable avoiding action.

They were both so fckin oblivious, I would have said this was a setup or a skit, if the dude hadn't been redeemed so hard his fckin shoe popped off. Driver didn't even notice the bump, and on forklifts, you feel every little stone or bit of wood under the wheels. Vic wasn't wearing Hi-Vis or other PPE as prescribed for the work environment he was in, and I didn't see any one else wearing it, either.

A horrific workplace accident occurred in Qingshui District, Taichung today (August 8th)! A truck driver surnamed Zhan was walking in a container yard when he was run over by a Vietnamese migrant worker surnamed Chen, who was driving a forklift . Both of Zhan's legs were crushed on the spot. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead. The police took Chen into custody and transferred him to the prosecutor's office on charges of negligent homicide. The Taichung City Labor Bureau responded that the Labor Inspection Office has dispatched personnel to conduct an inspection. If any violations of the Occupational Safety and Health Act are found, the worker will be suspended from work for rectification. At the same time, the "Proactive Service Program for Occupational Injury Cases" (FAP) mechanism has been activated to assist in properly handling related matters.

It is understood that the accident occurred at around 2 pm today (8th). A 58-year-old man surnamed Zhan was driving a container truck to a container yard on Section 5 of Gangbu Road in Qingshui District. When he got out of the truck and walked into the office to pick up the container, he was hit by a forklift driven by a 27-year-old Vietnamese migrant worker surnamed Chen. The forklift then ran over him, crushing and severely twisting his legs. Although he was still conscious at the time, he was pronounced dead after being sent to Tungs' MetroHarbor Hospital Wuchi Branch for emergency treatment.

The migrant worker surnamed Chen claimed that because the container yard's forklift was much larger than a regular forklift, his view was blocked while he was moving, which is why he directly collided with Mr. Zhan. After questioning, he was transferred to the prosecutor's office on charges of negligent homicide.

The Taichung City Labor Bureau also pointed out that the Labor Inspection Office has dispatched personnel to conduct inspections. If any violations of the Occupational Safety and Health Act are found, the worker will be ordered to suspend operations for improvement and will be fined between NT$30,000 and NT$300,000. At the same time, the "Proactive Service Program for Occupational Injury Cases" (FAP) mechanism has been activated to assist in properly handling related matters and to continue to provide care and support. The Labor Inspection Office has also listed this case as a disaster prevention and publicity case.
