Disaster 1 dead, 8 injured at "gender reveal" party - Bitch wasn't even pregnant

Nine people were shot -- one fatally -- late Saturday night at a private residence near Cincinnati, police told reporters at the scene.Three of those shot were children. The fatality is an adult female.

Police were called at 11:20 p.m. about reports of a shooting at a house in Colerain Township, said Colerain Township Police Officer James Love.

Family members tell ABC affiliate WCPO that a "gender reveal" party was taking place at the residence at the time of the shooting.

Love told reporters there was one or two shooters.

"You’re hoping that there won’t be situations like this," Love said. "These are the nights that you look back on and you regret that they ever happened. This will be one of those nights."

There is no name nor description of the suspect, Love said, adding that a motive is unknown.

I realize this is a tragedy and all, but as soon as I read "The fatality is an adult female" the first thing I thought was "DID YOU JUST ASSUME THEIR GENDER REEEEEE..."

Having said that, I'm now assuming something-something-something-drugs-something-something as the cause. Probably opiods if this is the part of Ohio near West Virginia.

I've never even heard of a "gender party", I've always assumed that after the ultrasound (if the fetus is far enough/cooperative to show it) the parents just say what they're having when asked or are keeping it a surprise.

Outside of that confusion, it's awful this happened, especially with children having been involved and another pregnant woman suffered a miscarriage from this (I assume it's not the woman throwing the party--God, I hope not). It's not like anyone was connected with the mafia, so what the fuck were these two bastards doing crashing a party like this?

I think this is a new thing. Or fairly new. Instead of going "Yeah, we're having a girl/boy" you have to have a party with color coded cake icing and party favors. It's really weird and nonsensical. If it's not lumped in with the baby shower then it's probably an excuse to get more free stuff from your friends and family. Although it's nowhere near as bad as those first period parties where you celebrate your mortified young daughter's passage into the worlds of cramps, blood and extra monthly purchases.

When I saw the thread title I immediately thought it was a troon party and someone was announcing that they were spacegendered dolphinkin or something stupid like that. Tumblr has ruined everything.

I only know what a gender reveal party is because some SJWs once got salty about it being cisnormative or whatever neologism they use.

Anyway, what a fucked up thing to do, shooting up a party with kids and a pregnant woman. My money is on angry ex-boyfriend/"wronged" baby-daddy.

there's really only 2 types of people i can think of off the top of my head who would do something like that:
someone with an extreme social justice mentality thinking these parties are "cisnormative"
an actual far right asshole who didnt realize gender parties are for when you announce a baby's gender
