I really hope that someday we can put together a model of what actually happened in JD’s social life. A theory I’ve seen on Twitter (phonefagging so can’t find the source) is that within the theorized polycule “Alex” is a bisexual(?) man who JD is dating and “Ash” is Alex’s friend (girlfriend?) and possibly another partner of JD’s, acting as an intermediary to try and obscure the real relationship map. I think there's some truth to this, hard to say what exactly is real. He told people from day 1 that he had a girlfriend, but when Beth and him started getting along in the cell while bashing Bashir, afterwards in the confessional he told Beth he was in an open relationship. So maybe he did think he would get in Beth's pants somehow? But then slapping Laura's ass is off limits?
