Iran Crisis & the 2026 War between Iran and the United States, Gulf States, and Israel - Please focus on news and coverage, not argumentation.

Unconfirmed reports by Nour News (close to Iran’s SNSC) says the reason why an account affiliated with Iran’s IRGC posted the F-15 ejected seat was to lure in US forces. It says IRGC ground forces commandos have already found both the pilots, which also explains why US search&rescue operation has a difficult time finding the pilot(s). Nour News says it cannot independently verify this report. Other (very) unconfirmed reports have also stated the one or both pilots have been captured by the IRGC. According to Iran’s State TV, the pilots statuses are unknown. Again, this is Iranian propaganda channels, assume it's mostly or entirely false.
From what I understand, we don't send in those choppers for a "Maybe." They almost certainly received a GPS ping.
The idea we'd deploy them just because state media posted a picture of an ejection seat is reaching, to say the least.

This story is pretty funny:

This guy was very proud that he shot down 5 drones from the American / Israelis with his gun. He posted his patriotic act and evidence of his feat. You can see where this is going based on the motors of the drones he shot down.

They were IRGC Shahed drones. He got arrested.

US/Israeli airstrikes are being carried out on Tehran, Iran.

Iranian propaganda Telegram channels are celebrating the downing of the F-15E. Dude, you have no navy, no air force, and we killed 49 of your top generals and officials the first night of the war. This is like celebrating a touch down while you're still down by 51 points.

Axios now confirms that an American F-15E fighter jet was shot down in Iran, and that rescue efforts are ‘ongoing’.

we killed 49 of your top generals and officials the first night of the war
And from what's been reported recently, literally the only reason the remaining members of your high command haven't been barbecued is that America is holding Israel back from killing them, so we have someone to negotiate with.
And you just shot down one of our planes. During a long weekend.
Good luck with that.

Why is a long weekend relevant?

Close-up footage of the U.S. C-130/MC-130J refueling two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters over southwestern Iran as the search and rescue mission for the F-15E crew continues.
So wait I don't get it, if Iran managed to down an F15, how come they are not taking down 2 fucking choppers and a heavy aerial refueler flying this low?

Praying the pilots get extracted safely. As hard as it is to finally have the No Hostile Shootdowns record broken, it's equally impressive to see how we're able to fly so low and deep into their territory.
Almost ironically proves how degraded their AA abilities are even more.
The lack of Sand Monkey hooting makes me think it might be mechanical failure not hostile action, but we'll see.

Why is a long weekend relevant?
Trump does all his big moves on the weekend so there isn't any panic selling, and everyone has settled down by the time the stockmarket opens. Its almost a meme at this point.
A long weekend means he's got even more time.

So wait I don't get it, if Iran managed to down an F15, how come they are not taking down 2 fucking choppers and a heavy aerial refueler flying this low?
MANPAD or the air defense site that took the shot no longer exists.

F-35s are working where you can't see to JDAM anything that doesn't look friendly.

I've been considering this. Iran is normally quick to post the most staticky, obviously AI propaganda footage they can, the second they get even the slightest grazing.
The fact that there hasn't been any posted yet makes me wonder if this was just a mechanical failure at the worst possible time.

No bragging from Iran about the F-15 because the Ghost of Tehran flying the infamous Qaher-313 7th Generation Stealth Fighter took it down. Iran doesn’t want to brag too much about its secret super weapons just yet. Everything has been going just as planned for the Islamic Republic

US Army chief of staff fired by Hegseth, sources say

Always a good sign when you fire the Army Chief of Staff in the middle of a war. They must feel like things re going great.
You could actually read why he was fired. He was fucking around with promotions against Hegseths directions. Dude was a Biden era flunky but they kept him on. The Army Chief of Staff is also an administrator. He has little to do with combat operations once they are in progress. His prinary job is to make sure the soldiers are paid, equipped, fed, trained, and that the right people are promoted into the right jobs.

That last part is what got hin the axe.

"It is the US' fault our complete military impotence is on global display and we're about to have a moderate fuel crisis, not the fault of the nation attacking neutral shipping. Clearly the only course of action is to give the violent retards what they are demanding. There will be no long-term consequences from caving to terrorist pressure."
Has the same energy:

Saved it from the last manufactured crisis.
The fact that there hasn't been any posted yet makes me wonder if this was just a mechanical failure at the worst possible time.
Perhaps some crafty smoke and mirrors, a C-130 that low? Might be an insertion...

They could also want to make sure their ducks are in a row if they have an actual bona fide W they want to roll out. Gonna wait til we hear back from the news and pray.

Iran has never given a shit how legitimate their propaganda is. They literally release AI Lego and Flash videos claiming they sank our navy. This would be no different.

An Israeli drone strike targeted worshippers earlier today as they were leaving the Ahl al-Bayt Mosque after prayers in Sohmor, western Bekaa, eastern Lebanon.️ The attack left 2 killed and 11 others injured.

US/Israeli airstrikes targeted the area of Tehran's Shahid Beheshti University.

MES posts a high quality picture of an A-10 flying over Iran. That's how degraded your AA network is, you have A-10s, MC-130Js, and Blackhawks flying with impunity. I guarantee the AA missile site that shot down the F-15E no longer exists.

US/Israeli airstrikes targeted the Kharramdasht Industrial Zone near Pardis, Tehran province.

MES:
The C-130J and two Black Hawk helicopters are still searching for the F-15 pilots in Iran.

Locals and Basijis shoot at them with rifles and AKs.

There are increasingly calls to arm the local population of the western provinces with MANPADS.
Please hand out MANPADS to yokels so they can shoot down your own drones or get TBIs from shooting them off inside their houses.
