Suggestion and Update Thread

Can we get an “illiterate” react? I’m tired of reading posts that are a slog where my only reply would come across as a pedantic asshole that doesn’t actually aid discussion. Have it be score-neutral.

@Null in light of the Liz Fong-Jones blitzkrieg, would it be feasible to add a feature where individual users can download all the data the site has on themselves (on json format or something similar), or (if you want to spend the effort) a page where less tech savvy users can review it, so they can identify possible holes in OPSEC? Is there any legal or otherwise downsides to this?

yes: gay pedophiles trying to spam the site diagnosing how to do it better.

A follow-up, if you allow me: how about a less intrusive version of that? For example, simply telling which IP addresses you have logged in with during the data retention period, showing only enough details for you to determine if you fucked up VPN kill switches and such. Or similar measures that would allow users some "hey dummy tighten up your house" warnings. I do take to heart your challenges of dealing with the different categories of highly-motivated demons trying to take down the site, I'm just throwing some ideas up in the air.

Not to step on any toes, but a thought experiment for you for this more limited case request. If it is available to you, an end user, then it is on some user-facing database somewhere that you can access via some form of account authentication running on forum software. It also allows one to determine the capabilities and limits of this website's IP tracking capabilities by checking that user portal. Can you consider the risk profile of this code and all those IP's just being there on a database you can touch vs. the benefits of it? Can you consider the value added to its users vs. the costs of creating it and maintaining it safely for the users? I don't see it making any business sense.

As for user safety, there is also a perfect solution that already exists and introduces no weaknesses and has no additional code required and is FREE as in FREEDOM and also as in FREE BEER: Go on TOR, make an e-mail account that allows TOR sign-up, use a unique name and password, use that to make a KF account with a unique name and password, and NEVER access either through clearnet ever again and NEVER reuse any of those passwords, names, and e-mail.

Someone make a cool KF intro video in this style:
(not me cause I'm too busy)

Jersh, you hate PajeetTube. I hate PajeetTube. Why not have the "Insert Media" function for writing posts also include options for Rumble and Odysee?

I'll buy you zlatarski sir. Seriously.

It really would be nice to have some way of favouriting threads without having constant notifications, maybe pinning them within topics so that they're always at the top of the list. There are certain threads I like to browse, but are simply too busy to watch. I suppose one could bookmark the OP of a thread, but i am le niggeur

Also is mobile posting broken for everyone or am I just especially niggery?

@Null

Two functions I think would really improve threads.

One: Add a button on a user's post to filter the thread to show only posts from that user. Would really help to follow threads where you have one person posting a lot of high quality information like the Iran thread.

Two: Have the "insert quote" function still appear when you edit a post.

Thanks for all your hard work in keeping the forum going.

You can already do that with the search feature just by choosing search this thread and putting that user into the user field.
