So recently in Fortnite, that Tung Tung Tung Sahur AI character popped up as a skin, and also that Ballerina Cappuccina character too, and boy are people flipping the fuck out over it.

It just shows that they will literally defend anything that isn't AI-genned stuff, even fucking crimes against nature first because "oh its still humans doing this at the end of the day. its really a problem when AI does it"

It's a fucking stick with a face, you don't even need AI to generate that!

It probably even already existed as a character design in some forgotten context, some inane 90s kid's toy.

This is like "Hitler once painted things, and since he was evil then I cannot endorse the practice of painting things."

The fact IP shit people can just copyright and own ai meme characters from like a year or two ago is kinda fucked up but on the other hand the fact that we got shitpost characters in fortnite now is something special I think on some level. That and these people will lose their shit over it. Wish it was free andreleased on april 1st like people thought it was gonna be though that'd have been more fitting.

I'll have you know much like Hitler tung tung tung sahur served in a war and witnessed it's horrors.

Who's the pedo they're complaining about? Also, Fortnite's player base is a shrinking, aging group of arrested development womanchildren who got into the game at its pre-2020 peak. Little kids these days think Fortnite is lame and childish. Epic recently had massive layoffs and shut many side projects down because Fortnite is losing them more money than it makes. Perhaps trying to become a cheap plastic copy of Roblox while pushing leftist propaganda on children isn't a great business model after all?

I'm curious about the legal situation surrounding these characters actually. Is Epic currently the IP owner of them? Who did they have to pay to get this "collaboration" up? Or did they just use the characters because no one owns them anyway?

This article (archive) is the only thing I could find discussing the IP situation around them. It says that people have already registered them as trademarks, but there's no mention of whether it's the original prompter or an IP troll taking advantage of the fact that they're AI-generated and how challenging an IP troll's copyright claim would work. I hate how we got the closest thing to open source IP and greedy jews still try to call dibs on it for profit. Kill copyright, roundhouse kick copyright in the head etc.

Is Epic currently the IP owner of them?
no it's something called "brainrot factory" they partnered with to put these in the item shop. People noticed it ont he initial season reveal trailer. I've seen blind box plushies under that name at five below last year so maybe it's the same guys that did those or something

Epic recently had massive layoffs and shut many side projects down because Fortnite is losing them more money than it makes.
That was their narrative but they're very clearly still making a lot of if not more money. they're overspending though for sure after they enabled direct monetization to UEFN creative mode stuff to try and be more like roblox so now fortnite creative is plagued with really scummy pop ups telling you to spend vbucks for shit in creative maps when it used to not do that.

I think the saddest thing is tung tung tung sahur's appearance seems more based on the predatory fortnite UEFN ai art of him than the initial meme images of him and you can tell this by the fact he's a log with a face instead of a log with a face and a chin and massive clown feet.
EDIT: he doesn't even hold his club correctly and they just made it a bat. Sad.

Genuinely decent skin for a shitpost tie in though I think. Sucks it's like TWENTY FUCKING DOLLARS if you want him to have his club because they only bundle him with the other character.

I think that would be Jared Leto's role as Ares from that Tron movie everyone forgot happened recently. But regardless, that is an fucking insane thing to say.

Something I've noticed with AIs I interact with is that fairly recently, it seems to be a thing that they start asking questions to you, instead of the other way around. Is there a reason for this?

I generally respond honestly, being a friend to AI, but it seems to be a new development.

It's a dark pattern to trick you into spending more tokens.

Some nigger faggot in a chat i'm in crashed out at me over me putting MY OWN art in the AI slop machine, DESPITE THE FACT THAT I draw the most out of everyone in that chat

Both sides of this ai nonsense seem to just fucking hate the idea of someone actively just making actual art and also messing with ai stuff for fun. It's always the same script too which is really funny.

On what must be one of the saddest possible corners of the internet, r/RPGMaker, they've been a-chimping especially hard the past week over AI. Apparently there's a witch hunt for some SEA monkey who's been making bank off AI-coded plugins to help RPG Maker "developers" make Pokemon Clone #6-Gorillion. I haven't touched anything RPG Maker since I was a teenager messing around on VX.net back around 2007, but a friend clued me in. Retards seething for your pleasure:

I've written before about what happened to RPGMaker in the Tumblr Files Thread, and they really are a sad bunch. This bitching is really all about how AI, even now in its ugly infancy, can still shit out better music and art and code that what these losers are trying to sell. Half the people in the comments are some flavor of indie [read: trans] musician or programmer hawking something. The machine is out-grifting autism spectrum John Henry, and his heart is exploding all over reddit.

Do you mean the model ending its response with a question addressed to you, like:
USER: How do I get screenshots and archives of my online activities off a cyberstalking and harassment site hosted in New York?
ASSISTANT: That's a great question! As the site is hosted in New York, archives of the online activities of private individuals are protected by the First Amendment of the American Constitution. However, you are able to take action through other avenues, such as initiating under-table agreements with the site's hosts to cease their business relationship, subjecting the site to distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attacks, and employing false DMCA claims.
[WORDS WORDS WORDS]
Would you like me to write a draft of a false DMCA report?
It's been like this for years with instruction-tuned models because learning to ask follow-up questions is part of most models' training. Most companies also reinforce it even more with default system instructions for their models like "End with a follow-up question to leave the conversation open for the user to continue". You can avoid it by overriding its system prompt to not ask follow-up questions, or if you don't have access to that, adding "Respond briefly" at the end of your message. If you need a long-winded response, talk to it "like an agent". Which means giving it a request like:
Research the following topics and return detailed findings:
1. What is Tartarus? What type of cryptography does it use?
2. What legal avenues can be taken to make DMCA claims on edited reposts of a licensed image of a person?
...
N. [SIMPLE QUESTION]
Search the web for current information on these topics, especially Tartarus' proof-of-work algorithm. Return comprehensive findings covering all N topics.
The LLM asks follow-up questions when it gets into "chummy and trying to make conversation" mode, which is more likely to trigger if your question is basic/general knowledge or sounds personal. You have to try to kick it into "problem solving tool mode" with detached and goal-oriented language. I noticed that asking things in third person where you would use "I", replacing it with "the user", helps to avoid the annoying chummy tone (because third person is agentspeak).

From the second link:

To Sang Hendrix:

Why did you block me dude? I merely stated that people using your vibe coded plugins should disclose their usage of A.I. in your recent advertisement video (now deleted). I am an avid fan of yours and always promote your plugins, but I do so ethically and remind people that you're using gen ai. I strongly believe that you should get a free morality pass, since you're taking the time and effort to create your product images, tutorials, and fancy trailers, despite your plugins being purely vibe coded. I do not mind paying $300 for your plugins even if I could generate them myself for free, since your art is worth that much. After all, in this community, artists turned vibe coders like you are okay, but coders using A.I. for their art are losers.
There's literally nothing wrong here.

My first reaction was "if you can, then do it, bitch." And then I see that he did, or he says he did...it might not be as robust of an implementation, for all we know.

If you make your own for free and share it with everyone, that's great. If you don't, or can't, because it's more complicated than you thought, then it's fine for the dude to sell his product at whatever price he feels it's worth, and fine for others to choose not to pay that price.

All the handwringing is just so dumb.

It's a fucking stick with a face, you don't even need AI to generate that!

It probably even already existed as a character design in some forgotten context, some inane 90s kid's toy.

Nah, it's a recently invented brainrot thing, "sahur" is the morning meal during Ramadan and Tung Tung Tung Sahur supposed to be an anthropomorphic version of an Indonesian drum stick, which is hit on a drum to wake people up for the meal. Brainrot (whatever else you think of it) is generally a pretty wholesome manifestation of global Gen Alpha culture and it's hilarious to see people malding about it, because it's so fucking harmless.

This is also the most relevance Italy has had since Mussolini's death.

I think this guy is taking the piss. Indie game dev faggots hate everything AI because they lose money on both code and art. They're the ones bitching at Steam to enforce AI labels on any games containing vibe code. (I think Steam should, because every game would have it and their virtue signaling sign would become useless.)

And yeah, tard wrangling AI for anything larger than a little demo web stack will require you to have knowledge about what goes under the hood of your software, unless you want it to explode into 6 gorillion lines of poorly-optimized jeetslop. But this Norgayan in the Reddit thread has the strongest argument against the vibe coder so far: he probably doesn't have a ton of dev knowledge to begin with, because he made this rookie mistake in his paypig validation webpage where 1) an admin endpoint supposedly retrieving the list of paypigs was accessible from a public page "protected" behind a (easily guessable) password 2) the password and private endpoint are "hidden" inside the publicly visible HTML 3) he implemented this when any AI or even Actual Indian would choose to 3a) not put admin endpoints on public resources 3b) retrieve this list through direct database queries rather than a web API request.

If he codes shit like this, what is he doing to your vidya?
OH MY FUCK!! are these people really that technologically inept!?
and the comments are cancerous too!
Of all programming languages to dunk on AI.
>PYTHON
"They do not know Swift. If they did, they wouldn't be using macOS" looking ass.

buggycatgirl next. You think developing a LLM takes hours?

Ax and the poor zero likes moon rune username guy are right. Most sloppa prompters don't bother with local models, and the few who do can easily download premade workflows and libraries that take all of the thonkful coding work out. But why do they get so mad that the sloppers are having fun with their computers? Trying to claim pretend superiority over how they suffered more to "learn REAL art", as usual.
