/r/TNOmod and the Reddit HOI4 modding community - When a subreddit for a video game mod turns to utter insanity

"So, what you're saying is that we need a add minigame to deal with coffee plantations in Colombia and 10 5 years of content for Cambodia (its a failed path, it is not the Khmer Rouge)" - some TNO dev, probably.
I, for one, am looking forward to the promised Fijian Island civil war update. Any day now.

"The Year is 2030 TNO is leaving the US with no content after mango rework causes a new civil war in the Dev Team and causes the last Burgundyst in the team to Nuke everything in honor off Himler,TNO dies after so much time.
meanwhile TNORA announces the launch off it´s newest update in HOI5 after Goodwinson shared the new Vladimir Putin Aryan Brotherhood Reformist Path along with more....."

Hohols in 2026 are really having it rough these days. Still RAPED by 4 years of war, will inevitably get flooded with 'jeets to compensate for 70% of men dying to FPV drones, Reddit does not care about them anymore since last year and even their shitty little amount of content in TrooNO will get wiped out and rewoooorked.

What did she do to deserve this hell? Can we all just turn back time to the good old geopolitical reality of 2009?

@GoodWinSon The nuTNO Haiti (And for some reason also Gorky) nuking's got me thinking, what if Wallace could deploy nuclear weapons during the South African War if the war dragged on to 1966 or Huttig directly used chemical weapons, drawing the US in? It's a conflict with actual stakes so it makes more sense than Haiti, so it'd make sense. If Wallaec actually does do it, then it massively tanks the NPP-FR's popularity and ensures an OFN with South Africa taking Nambia, Southern Mozambique, Botswana, and Zimbabwe, but the rest of Africa collapses into the Stage-2 Huttig devastation scenario but without any of the actual consequences of Huttig going apeshit, of course.

Not going to lie, by the time Hoi5 is considered "playable" I could finish Hoi4 2.

A niche scenario and one I'm not sure the AI can handle. Besides, why would a Huttig player use chemicall weapons. It's basically a suicide button and fail state at that point.

Burgundy can push Huttig to do it through their focus tree, and all you'd need to do is add a decision to America's SAW ForPol decision tab with a simple argument that allows it to be taken the date if greater than 1966 and if the Kongo and Ostafrika are below 30% capitulation and if Wallace is the president, once the decision is taken you get two options to back out of the plan, permanently disabling the decision or to go ahead with it, in an ai_will_do argument of 5 for each one will ensure it's a perfect 50/50 chance when the US is controlled by the AI.

Eh ok. But I do have plans to adjust post SAW content so it's not just a crap shoot for the RKs and Germans.

Post SAW collapse after the Germany win has always bothered me.
I think it should still happen most of the time but there should be some way to avert it but it comes with a massive cost.
Huttig wins but he controls an empire of ashes, that kinda thing.

Afrika Addio had that, but it got shoah'd for genocide mechanics, and in any case I do know that in newer TNO versions Germany can support an anti-Huttig clique in the Reichsstaat who take over Leopodville and can later take over the rest of the Congo in a proxy war before rejoining the Pakt.

I like the way you think but I think this falls into the same pitfalls TNO itself does. It's more complicated than it needs to be and causes multiple decisions to become suicide buttons. How about: Any president can escalate to a small-scale deployment of low-yield nukes if Huttig uses chemical weapons against the OFN in breach of the Geneva protocols. This doesn't end the war or your political career since Huttig just gassed GIs. Instead of an instant collapse have several key Schild cities are wiped off the map, resulting in various harsh but fair debuffs. If the war drags on anyway and OFN troops start returning home with radiation sickness, then the popularity of the ruling party starts to tank. Ie make it a risky gambit for OFN instead of a game ender. Optionally: Schild can respond by using the uranium in Congo to develop their own weapons. If the war drags out too long after nukes were used and there's a tit-for-tat between the Schild and the OFN or just OFN using nukes repeatedly, then a collapse can happen. Use a devastation meter so that the player can see how close they are to it. Give it a unique anarchy/Huttig devastation if it all goes kaput. I liked @Mussolini’s Merkin's idea of Huttig's empire of ash and think that could fit in there.

In other words have it work more like TFR's GAW instead of TNO's Haiti where nukes are a fun escalation.
