I get the sense that Chris started the TomGirl phase as a means of a surrogate lover. He became his own object of sexual lust and female companionship. Considering that is quite possibly the case, I think he would be considered a transvestite. I have read that there is a corrolation between cross gender identity and Aspergers and also it is quite obvious that ChrisChan has a lot more estrogen than most males. I am mostlikely XXY, I developed breasts at puberty and have very wide hipbones. It is possible that Chris is such a fag because his hormones are equally atypical for a male. Obesity alone doesn't account for a rack like his. We are basically all a mixture of estrogen and testosterone. If he is XXY or female psychologically, I get the impression that Bob repressed all of that shit deep into his head.
It's my belief Chris' tomgirl shtick is just another aspect of his Cargo Cult approach to life. Chris wants a fuckmommy. Chris hates men. So Chris adopted a feminine dressing identity to give the universe a hint of what he wants to have. Yes, it makes no sense. Yes, it's stupid. But that's Chris.
There is a difference between a transvestite and a crossdresser. As far as I understand crossdresser is a neutral term that implies a male-identified person who occasionally dresses as a woman. If there is some sexual element or kinky element to it then I believe it is within the realm of transvestite. Transvestite is sorta an archaic term now I think, though I think it fits him.
Nah. Transvestite is just the latinized, technical word for crossdresser. It literally means the same thing: trans means "across / opposite" and vestitus means "dressed". Crossdresser came into popular use because of the confusion between transvestite and transgender, which look similar to people unfamiliar with latin but have distinct meanings.
Chris wears women's clothes, so by definition he is a tranvestite. But he's not transgender because that refers to sexual identity, not just apparel.
Edit: Or well, there's also crossdressing for comedy purposes. I guess that's an instance of crossdressing that I wouldn't call transvestism.
It's still transvestism when the Monty Python guys and other actors do it. I believe the term for male actors playing females roles (like in all of Shakespeare) is transvesti. Since they're doing it professionally for money, though, and not just because they prefer to cross dress (so far as I know, though I have suspicions about Terry Jones), you're correct in that they're not properly transvestites like what Chris is.
There are multiple biological conditions that can arise in people identifying as the other sex.
True, but Chris doesn't really exhibit the symptoms of any of them that aren't more readily explained by his stupidity and hubris.
Also don't you think transgender people have enough problems dumped on them by society without being associated with Chris as well?
That's a really expansive definition, and almost entirely subjective. by that measure, my girlfriend would call me a transvestite because I have my ear pierced and she thinks earrings are for girls.
According to my niece, having a pierced ear doesn't mean you're a transvestite. It means you're a pirate.
