GoFundMe and fraud accusations disputed​

A major part of the complaint centers on Mitchell’s claims that Jobst fraudulently raised money through GoFundMe campaigns.


The lawsuit alleges Mitchell accused Jobst of misleading donors and taking around $200,000 under false pretenses, along with broader claims that he had “scammed” viewers out of more than $500,000.

Jobst disputes these claims, stating the funds were used for legal expenses and that campaign details accurately reflected ongoing or threatened litigation at the time.

The filing also references a separate 2021 fundraiser, alleging Mitchell falsely claimed Jobst misappropriated money intended for third parties, despite testimony that funds were distributed as intended.

My only guess is Karl views a successful lawsuit as the only way to reduce what he owes Billy and that if he can force a settlement of sometime to offset debts that will help him out of his bankruptcy hole?
