So basically 1 out of 5 ferrets he 'rescues' will not make it out of ferretschwitz. I tried to google how much personnel would be needed for a rescue of 100+ ferrets but cannot find anything conclusive. Anyway, based on his ferret website he only has shaye and 2 part timers (maddie and nova) looking after them. I know absolutely nothing about ferrets or rescues but even if you add in a couple of part timers or volunteers, the manpower would seem really grossly inadequate?

for me the term rescue goes hand in hand with rehabilitation as well, for wild life back to the nature for pets adoption to a new more responsible owner, the nigger does non of that. He is those ferrets final destination so to speak.

Agreed with this. I had two for about 3 years. They would shit all over the place, I made sure to get their scent gland deal removed from the vet so they were less likely to piss on each other, and got the male and female both fixed to avoid sexual aggression stuff. Didn't make the biggest difference at times but i'd say it helped. They both died of genetic problems around the same time, and they had a huge ass cage, play pen, and had free roam time. They are NOT simple, easy, or healthy pets from my own experience and other owners i've spoken to. Something always comes up. I was consistent with vet visits, as I am with all my pets too.

They are fun pets if you have the time when they're young noodles, but they deteriorate fast.

At the scale they're dying at, his for profit 'rescue' might draw undue attention for even cremating them - Not like illegality, but more just animal welfare checks, when you have more deaths than months in a year. Wouldn't be surprised if they're just going into a hole in the ground to avoid dealing with the effort of properly documenting things. Or even the cost, cremation where they dispose of the ashes for you ("communal") is still like a hundred buck deal, and getting them back is a few hundred more.
