Oh this game! Yeah, people were defending it like their fucking lives depended on its success, they couldn't let the chuds shit on this eye sore rainbow vomit of a game. That was until it was discovered that the developer/art collective or whatever that made/funded the game had ties to the IDF and Israel. Since Antisemitism is full force in the general woke/normie conscious just with different phrasing the game was dropped by those people pretty quickly with a large majority of them switching up on it saying that it looked like shit this entire time, actually!

They still can't figure tha those games were the industry innovation back in the day, and only look more primitive now because technology advanced. It took time to work with hardware and software limitations of 90's computers. Now they just throw some low poly assets in one project and think it's the same thing as the work process old developers had.

For those who don't know, Harmony Korine is a film director who's known for making really weird avant-garde post-modern movies and he's been doing this since the 90s, he isn't a no-name either and has quite a few hits. EDGLRD is "an American creative and technology company" he started in 2023 and it seems like their main source of activity is making troonslop games? Weird.

Yeah Korine runs it and they make 80/90s retro futuristic stuff which looks cool but now sadly targets trannies. Also Gummo is a pretty fucked up movie surprised he went from that to this.

Gummo and Kids were films by him that are still pretty infamous in movie circles due to how fucked up they are, though not without receiving praise for their surreality. It feels so weird that a renown director like that is now developing Ultrakill knockoffs for trannies, though I guess it can't be that surprising considering his two most recent movies. They look super cool and do have a really neat visual style that really stands out but all you need is a single second to look at it to realise who exactly this sort of post-modern internet-core artsy stuff appeals to the most. Trannies really do ruin everything, fucking hell!

to be fair to him, EDGLRD's just the publisher. he's not developing anything

the actual developer is an Indian who also made Lovely Planet about a decade ago (back when troons were obsessed with Katamari Damacy instead of boomer shooters and PS1 games). here's a quick comparison:

Holy shit, earlier today I thinking about writing a post about how with all the japanese gates and chinese letters and shit in there the game looks like Lovely Planet but somehow gayer, but couldn't find a good clip to post for reference

What's crazy to me is this game was made in the Monogame framework. If it was made in gamemaker engine then this would be typical, but they built this game from scratch with just a framework to make this piece of shit. Trannies can be making the next "it" game just like the og virgins but futa anime porn and hrt has got them zoinked like crack did to black people. Shame.

Mainly. It was created as a place for weebs, so naturally when enough congregated there, they started leaking into boards and\or topics which are not inherently related to anime, and from there to the broader internet.

This past obsession with Japan is still strong, but now they've switched to "Comfort games", mostly aping Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon. It's not very good in either case.

General rant:

I think I figured the issue with most of those devs - they have many ideas, but don't understand most of them.

What I mean is that before you create and publish\sell something, you need to understand it's purpose and functionality yourself. Basically, even if they don't take something from another game, their habit of including (and regurgitating) mechanics or concepts without proper contextual adaptation leads them to create things that aren't fully developed either; They think "This would look cool!" - but not "Why would this be cool?"; "How would this impact the player experience?"; "How does this fit with the theme?"; "How would this make the game more replayable and appealing to the customer?" and "How can I do it the exact way I want to with my current resources?".

And then we get troonslop.

On top of that I feel we just have too many people trying to be creative in general. It's harder to innovate in a field that's already so oversaturated by repetition and copying of ideas, so what you make really will just be more along the lines of "I think this is cool" rather than "I think this has something to say" because a lot of this stuff (particularly trans identity shit) has already been said so there's not much else to do BUT just "make it look cool."
