Yeah, they really had a "Catch-22" situation: Either they were never going to have their dick licked ever again by young starlets or they could get rid of a good man while risking their own careers. They didn't count on him fighting back and having fan good will. Not factoring that destroyed Funimation. Also, I doubt that Crunchyroll gives them the same level of access in young talent. It is the #MeToo era in there still and Crunchyroll has not the pull with the fans to get away with such a cover-up. Especially in the Internet Age. Everyone knows about their reputation so do not be surprised if there are those who record interviews. The casting couch era was always going to end the moment the Smartphone came and the social media are just the cherry on the cake. Such a shame.

You see, I do not doubt for a second that they were envious of Vic but I feel that they were not willing to do much apart of talking shit behind his back. The type that is fine with anything as long as his dick/her pussy gets licked. I think they did not want to lose access to the casting couch (among other privileges). Add the TDS at the time (Vic is Christian) and you get a whole lot of VAs wanting him gone. A girl confusing Illich Guardiola for Vic (she has brain damage), influencers deciding to have a lynching as well as a bunch of others mentioning vague rumors (or even making up accusations to join the bandwagon like Nathan did) and you get the green light to ruin a man.

It was like a planetary alignment for snaking a coworker. So many things needed to happen for this and they did. At least we can say that their victory is rather bitter. The localizers have never made the news for a flattering reason, the influencers lost fans and the whole event served to turn most anime fans against dubbing.

Yes. Pretty sure it was semi graphic too. But at the very least it was pedophilic Ed x Roy fanart and it rightfully creeped him out.
 
It's honestly a shame that moment never got filmed if just for his reaction, it would've likely helped vindicate him knowing how he approached it. He probably tried really hard to keep calm and gently turn the girl down with an explanation that wouldn't hurt her feelings even though there's a chance the girl and her friends were doing it for laughs and it was an unrelated group that decided to harass Vic with yaoi pictures.
