It feels like a One Piece/Naruto/Dragon Ball movie where they have the core cast in a story that's never brought up or referenced again in the main series.
You put it perfectly. It really does feel like a non-canon movie from a shonen series.
Basically nothing that happens matter and the world is right back to where it was when the movie began.

The only things that matter happen in the last 5 minutes of the movie, after the villain is defeated: they build the new temple, get the disciples and find new the bison's.
Those last minutes could have been a whole movie, a much better one at that.

A reminder that this was a multi-year project
I didn't think the animation was bad at all but it shouldn't have taken any more than 2 years to create this. Invincible creates 8 hours of dogshit in 1 year working with literal North Korean's and like 4 overworked Americans and I think if you gave them as much time to create the movie, they would've made something better that's also longer.
Only thing I really dislike (based off clips I saw on twitter) is that Toph's earthbending looks weird and doesn't match with her style seen in the show.

This is straight up delusional. Avatar has never done well enough to be saying something like this

So was my guess that Mystery bender man is the Fake Airbender Man from Korra correct?
Believe it or the movie is just a rehash of that same plot in Korra S3.

I'm just nooooticing that he's a big ol' missing piece in all the other misadventures involving Mike and Bryan
