On reflection, Etsy is definitely the right marketplace for Sonichu.

WHAT i want this

This is like one of the best sagas we've had all week.

This made up for the 3 or 4 years of nothing, it got my mind off things , (except making an awesome stirfry) and the photoshops were great and we start the cycle where he flips out on facebook about eBay taking down the ads/.

But if he were to go on esty he could have better luck.

Etsy is not an auction site, so he would need to set his own price. Which would be so massively high that only trolls would bid.

He does tend to ask for ridiculous amounts for things, like $1000 for porn. I don't know what he initially valued the art at. I believe the initial bid was $20, and buy it now was $100. He was high, but not out of the ball park. I think the consensus here is that he might be able to sell a few dozen drawings at $25 a pop or so.

Chris is a slow learner, except when it comes to the lessons that stroke is ego. So his main takeaway from this whole saga is that his drawings are worth thousands. Right now that valuation is fairly well stuck in his head, and I can't see him come down off it. So he if he lists it on Etsy, he will get no interest except for people trolling him, who won't pay the price.

He was really close to an idea that could have yielded him hundreds, if not a grand or two, for working a few hours a day for a month. Or he could have just made $100 for an afternoons work every time the mood struck him. Should have been ideal. BUT his execution was a a little off, he got trolled a little, he learned a few wrong lessons, the usual. Now he is back into the situation he was in before. He is capable of earning money, but it would involve breaking some firmly held principle.

Would it be useful to have a thread on here to curate links to fan-made Sonichu merchandise, for those of us who don't have $1,000s to invest in an original Chandler? There are some nice t-shirts I've seen, and with the advent of 3D printing I may one day sip an absinthe frappé through my very own Oversized Red Drinking Straw of Fail.

Or would such a thread be swiftly lock'd?

It also comes down to his belief that he deserves what he wants regardless of personal effort. The tugboat supports that belief, he gets play money for playing all the time. This is all he's willing to do. Did you ever dream of being rich and famous when you were a kid? Chris believes he's famous, and he also believes rich should go along with it, so since he's already famous the riches should be a heartbeat away. He won't accept 20 bucks a drawing, would Warhol?

I've often found a place in my life where a set of Chaotic Combo dolls about the size of those 8" pokedolls would be appropriate.

Someone go work on it.

Bahahaha

I sent him a message:

"$5000 is very expensive for a picture. Does this ship with Christian Weston Chandler or is $5000 solely for the picture and the frame?"

"I am not included personally with the purchase"

I was going to say that's pretty ween, but if he actually responded with that then you lucked out and it's pretty funny.
@C Cup Milking Pickle do you have a screen cap of that?

I'm really torn on this... It's almost like Sophie's choice for me....

I kinda want someone to buy Chris' "art" at that price it so that he'll become encouraged by this one success, immediately spend the money on junk, then produce tons of new "art" and list it for even more ridiculous prices -- leading to months of productive opportunities for new sagas.

On the other hand, I don't think he deserves that kind of money for crapping out a dirty scribble onto printer paper, and I would really hate to see him get what he wants (In this case, "what he wants" is defined as "the absolute worst thing for him").
Are you really that torn between getting more Chris content and him "...not deserv[ing] that kind of money...?"

He accepted a best offer. So... he sold it. CWC made money. Is this a win or a loss for the world? You decide!
How would CWC making money be a loss for the world? Isn't one of the biggest complaints against him is that he just sails the :tugboat: ?

More than likely, he wont see any of the money; and his account will probably end up with a suspension or a selling limit due to the amount of times OPL posted the drawing on eBay. If the buyer does not pay, OPL can submit a unpaid items thing, and eBay will investigate the issue, during the time they investigate, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if OPL starts to harass and threaten the buyer due to him not getting the $1,000, which was basically promised. This can go one of two ways. The first being that OPL actually receives payment (which would surprise everyone here), and the second being listed above.

I remember somebody posting a Sonichu doll that a friend had made for them a long time ago...Aha! Here it is: http://cwckiforums.com/threads/sonichu-doll.1205/

A set of dolls like that would be pretty cool!
You know, with a little ingenuity and a lot of effort on my part I'd probably be able to come up with something similar to this. If people were willing to buy them I'd probably give it a go.

Young.. lady or whatever you are, those are remarkable. It'd be poetic if someone made a line of these and they sold out like meth, with none of the proceeds going to Chris.
All the proceeds are going to the Mary Lee Walsh scholarship fund for LGBT youth, racial minorities, JEWS, and pretty much anyone else Chris hates.

(Now I kinda want to do another set with Jamsta and Lolisa, Zapina, and anyone else whom I might have left out.)
