With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

He said his first idea was to bring one of the guns up from the basement and shoot her in the face mid-speech but they weren't sure if it was legal.
Sometimes the wiggers are straight up just pure niggers. Firing off a gun in an enclosed room full of people with no hearing protection is peak dumb, ignorant, inconsiderate, irresponsible niggerish behavior. Extra hard R.

I'm neutral on Antara so your point doesn't really hold water there.

If you took me finding your point dumb as part of some one sided personal vendetta then I think you really are the one who needs to calm down.

You didn't respond to the rest of my post so I'll just take that as a concession!

I think my biggest take away this season (outside of the pay pig telegram being gay) is that Jet just needs to suck it up, and get some sleep.
Some people can run on low sleep, he very clearly can't
He started the season off somewhat humble and good natured. Him addressing the audience was a good addition. But as the season went on and his sleep clearly seemed to suffer (supported by him saying a few times he barely got any sleep) he became lazy, ill tempered, antagonistic to the audience, did less addresses, punched monitors, threw tantrums, etc.

He even seemed to have much more self aware clarity the day after the finale.
Just get some sleep man. Have a designated "night time" monitor who can wake you up if shit happenes. The night time bits are funny but if the whole show is going to suffer to have them, then it's time to just give them (and yourself) a rest.

I've been wondering if it would really break the bank to hire a few more guys to handle basic shit like reviewing the TTS or keeping watch during the night. It's not even like they need to pay them a full year salary with benefits just toss them a hundred bucks a day or something.

Now they actually have a house somewhere that they can stream. Barring any legal trouble, it should be much easier between seasons. They need to fix the house and test if the homeowner is truly okay doing this season to season. All that being said it should make turnaround simpler. I would not be happy with week on week off because it would get stale really quickly they would run out of ideas. Part of the fun of fishtank is not having it for a year at a time. Scarcity brings value. I think if they did something like a monthly week long stream 3 weeks off 1 on it could be a lot better, decrease the membership prices on off season. Truthfully in my eyes, I don't see fishtank lasting more than 5 more years with legal issues and burnout. I don't know if i see them doing too many more seasons, but I am grateful for it even being a thing in the first place.
I do know they have a 1 year lease that is up in November. You just know the owner will up the rent on a renewal.

I had a weird dream about fishtank. They started a new season where everyone were secretly freeloaders thinking the other people were fish and then slowly introduced the actual fish competing for the prize (I think). People in chat were going crazy because a guy was eating a shirt saying it was a secret fish mission given by someone.
I've had two dreams of Fishtank this season. The first was I went on the show and was immediately doxxed and fired. The second was me and Bashir hanging out then he got eliminated and we were talking about music as he was packing up

Arguing is gay. Let's start talking about the real reason we're all here:

Bloodgames 2 (hopefully Season 5.5)

Who/what/when/where do we want?
I'm working on a bigger post about my thoughts, but you guys have had some great ideas peppered throughout this thread. Drop 'em now while we have a bit of downtime between S5 and whatever mini content Jet has in store.

A few questions to think about:
  • What contestants? S3/4/5?
  • Theme? Medieval fantasy focus or scattershot nonsense like BG1?
  • Returning characters other than Xavier?
  • Fully outdoors, split between indoors and outdoors, or fully indoors at a warehouse?
  • More serious LARP than last time, or less serious?
  • More focus on RPG mechanics, or less?
  • Sequel or prequel? Immediate or distant?
  • What shouldn't change? What should change?
  • Should audience participation matter more?
  • Weapon balancing? New weapons? Should guns return?
  • Should food be earned through quests or money? Or given by default like last time?
  • How much hassling of contestants?
  • Camera placements? What do we think about the chest cams?
I'm aware of how difficult it's going to be to get another Bloodgames, and that it may not happen at all.
But I want to keep discussion alive to show Jet, Ben, and Sam (to whatever extent he's involved) that we are still very much interested and that prioritizing it wouldn't be a waste of resources. Also to let them know what we liked and what they can safely focus their efforts on for maximum viewing quality. Also also get them to stop hating KF, we're not all dox-happy freaks masturbating over the downfalls of autists, particularly in this thread.

- Bashir as Arab Samurai
- TJ as Autistic Boxer
- JDRA as Doctor Survival
- Direnc as Wild Barbarian (bonus points for antagonizing Bashir in the same party)
- Luke if he could wing it as Sanctimonious Cleric
- Trish as Mama Mambo
- Tayleigh again, maybe
- The Twins as Grafting Sorceresses

Bloodgames 2 (hopefully Season 5.5)
Georgia forests and swampland look different than Northeastern forests, so I think it should be a new story altogether. Mandatory to have back from S5 James Drake, Landon, Bashir and Blane at minimum.

Best thing I could throw out right now is NPC ideas:
  •  Burt - Wandering esoteric madman practiced in advanced gay magicks. Gives out quests to the fish.
  • Blane and Damiel - Credit to Sneedchat for coming up with the original idea: Hunchbacks guarding a tower containing the Beef Bell with shitty narrow gargoyle wings, they're supposed to try and catch the fish if they try intruding on his tower but can never get through the narrow doorway. They sleep in twin doghouses outside.
  • Vimp - "Damsel in distress" except she's extremely autistic and doesn't realize she can literally just leave at any time.

Makes sense. I wouldn't be coherent after a week of trying to run the whole show, let alone 30+ days. Keeping the production crew as small as it is, and the nature of fishtank means they really can't step away unless the format changes to something like:
  • Fish have a 3am-7am curfew. Absolutely no major fucking with people during those hours, or there's a real consequence. Everyone is guaranteed 4-5 hours of peace and sleep. Ruins the hellhouse vibe.
  • Two production crews, day shift and night shift. More people to pay, more trust in the B-team. If Mints is the B-team, he's in fucking trouble.
  • Have a sleeping trailer for production outside the house. No monitoring feeds in the trailer, walkie talkies for important "all-hands" alerts.
Thanks for reading my blog post ideas.

  • What contestants? S3/4/5?
Twins, Luke, Landon, Jobe and Bashir are my Top 5, in order. I don't think anyone from Season 4 fits for the party but Aryeh could be a Townfolk. For S3 Burt should be involved but I think he'd also struggle as a party member, but could be good in a cast role, Alex B would enjoy it but probably couldn't make the entire run with out Jon-ing out. He was definitely more sober at the finale, and maybe that Alex B could enjoy the Larp enough to make it through, but I expect him to want to fist fight over a bad Foam Sword hit. Most of the rest are fine in smaller roles but no one I want to see. Happy for anyone from BG1 to return as cast/villains. James Drake use to be in my top five to return, and the ending has soured him out of that even though it really isn't his fault, but not to the point that I don't want him involved and I'm sure that'll improve with time.

Edit: I FORGOT BLANE FML
  • Theme? Medieval fantasy focus or scattershot nonsense like BG1?
First one should be another like the first, but I think they could expand on BG like productions. Never Die Living I think showed that other themes of making the Fish goofy improv characters can be enjoyed by the community. The one in my head is a murder mystery party, where it's social interaction in the House with one Fish is the killer trying to take out other Fish in secret. That would be nice if they could keep both the audience and the fish in the dark on who the Murder fish is(lights out moments, tasks for victim fish that would make them suspicious), but that's asking a lot of the Wiggers. Definitely think Murder Mystery Night could be a challenge in the next Season, as well as other minithemes, before doing a bigger production.
  • Fully outdoors, split between indoors and outdoors, or fully indoors at a warehouse?
Fully outdoors, maybe a "dungeon" that is a building. I think it'd be fairly easy/relatively cheap to rent out a ranch with trails for two weeks, convert it to theme with premade signs and maybe a couple structures, and shoot for a week.
  • More serious LARP than last time, or less serious?
Same, stricter LARP for narrative events, less serious in between.
  • More focus on RPG mechanics, or less?
Experiment with more but be willing to bleed off things that don't work.
  • Sequel or prequel? Immediate or distant?
Sequel, distant even though it makes no sense with returning characters.
  • What shouldn't change? What should change?
I think two weeks was maybe a bit too much. I think a two weeks run with staff having a week of set up, maybe a long weekend(Friday to Monday or Wednesday to Sunday) Bloodgames, and a few days for break down. There are smaller Renaissance Fairs that run like that and I assume make money, you gotta convert admissions and concessions sales to Internet interaction but I think they could still make it profitable. I have stated and intend to pay for a Season Pass when they do BG2 to make sure the wiggers understand it is wanted content.
  • Weapon balancing? New weapons? Should guns return?
I think the game should mostly be foam swords, it just worked better that way. The airsoft was fun, but realistically the guns would need a lot more antagonists for balance that they probably can't accommodate. However as they get into the late game I think there should be more specialized stuff for the heroes, like giving Landon a mop that is essentially a spear. More basic Nerf guns for magic spells or various ranged attack themes, would probably be more balanced.
  • Should food be earned through quests or money? Or given by default like last time?
Default, most likely everyone involved is going to be volunteering, and while working outside being physical all day the bare minimum the wiggers need to do is feed everyone. And they need to have electrolytes. There are bulk worksite electrolyte products like https://www.overtimehydration.com/ that make this rather affordable.

  • Camera placements? What do we think about the chest cams?
I don't think the chest cams worked, weren't good to watch fighting, I think statics and cameramen are the way to go.
