I just flatly disagree. Im okay with them nudging things when it is out in the open to keep things interesting (like bringing Bashir back when Vicky walked or letting the audience vote on the Twins)

But a through and through rigging behind the scenes makes the show as a whole feel way less compelling to me even if they do it well. I agreed with Jet's idea to make the game part of the game matter. I just hated his implimentation with the paintball gun. It's why the candy challenge was way better than the tree one.

And frankly if they intended it to be a rigged win from the start rather than laziness or incompetence, it lessens James Drake's win feeling earned more than wrestling two tiny women did .
There's never been a 100% legitimate winner in the history of the show. At some point you just have to accept that's how it is.

This seems like an unfair statement as S1 might be the only one that can be said about.
S3 and S4 don't really count because of the obvious issues, S3 couldn't do a tradtional competition from Vegas and Burt didn't really "win" until S5.
I don't know how S2 can be said to have been rigged for TJ. TJ never overtly had anything rigged in his favor. The points in the Swamp olympics fell how they did because Tayleigh and Shinji nuked each other with the point reductions. The boxing match was just for more of a climactic ending, but the points had already decided TJ won prior to that. If anything the rigging would have been for Shinji and the audience voted against it.

the problem with the show being actually fair is that with only 2 big exceptions (Letty and Bashir) "player" fish (the ones who actually are good at and take challenges seriously) are nontent, they are only there to do the challenges and nothing else, wich is not what fishtank is about, fishtank is about being funny, a menace and entertaining, wether you are good at challenges or not is another thing entirely. if we make the show fair there will be no more interesting fish and it will turn into big brother with uncensored TTS and nobody gives a shit about that

I like the idea of a content trap house personally, also helps in the Twins' case that they wouldn't need to kick up rent or anything and can just focus on stacking paper for when they head out into the world. I know Nepstein is a thing but I think he's being genuinely good faith with the Twins and everything post-ending really speaks to that, dude knows their lives suck and wants to give them a shot at potentially becoming self-sustaining.
"Landon love island" is another idea he has for content inbetween seasons. Has not spoken to Landon about it.
Hate this idea, Vimp was bad enough. The level of pick-me activity this is going to generate will be diabolical. I think they should hire Landon on though for menial work, it's surely better than whatever he's currently doing.

3 - Direnc fit this to a bill. The sentiment is correct though. I think they do genuinely hope people can use the show to become self-sustaining and make a career for themselves, it's just never really worked out outside of Season 1. I don't think they need to change anything fundamental about it, they are casting almost exclusively people who are aware the game is unfair outside of a few exceptions. They should understand what they're getting into.

There is no competition, its just baiting the wiggers into deciding that you should be the winner for vague unexplained reasons.
Season 1 it was because of wanting to do the willy wonka ending and Josie's psycho fans spamming CHARGEBACK every time she lost a challenge

Season 2 it was because they wanted to claim Fishtank cured someones autism

Season 3 it was because everyone but the zesty negro was completely insufferable.

Season 5 isn't fully in focus yet but Jet did spend all season long saying he wanted a dark ending where JD won because it would be funny and piss off the fans so......

Another benefit of it not being FAIR HOUSE is it leads to endless discussion about what was rigged and what wasn't. Devious.

Totally agree with you on this, and I do understand where you’re coming from in terms of wiggerrigging in general.

I’m not a wrestling person, but maybe I’m coming at it from a similar place as they. I expect my shows to be somewhat if not heavily “worked.” It’s not that different from being the self-aware type of mainstream reality tv fan, where analyzing the way production manipulated the edit is part of the enjoyment.

The rigging still does leave some parts of the Fishtank experience ringing a little hollow though. In a wiser and more compelling Fishtank world the wiggers wouldn’t be “rigging” anything and instead be constructing elaborate designs to, subtly or unsubtly depending on the need, nudge and influence strategically as needed with an eye for generating content. But these are the wiggers we’re talking about.

Apologies for the tangent but as an elder millennial I am constantly struck by the wiggers’ youth and inexperience. It’s not really their fault. In some ways it’s an advantage because they just go for it not knowing any better, but they are at a huge disadvantage trying to engineer a social game when they have stunted social skills to begin with and only a decade at best of adult life under their belts, to say nothing of how chronically online they are.

Also, as long as we’re thirsting I’d blow Freddy’s mind and then never speak to him again and pretend it never happened.

Overall I enjoyed the season but will probably never watch the ending ever again. I wasn't even intently looking at it, just having it as background noise and it was the most uncomfortable experience listening to it. I've noticed in some tier lists that people aren't even including Charity which is fair because she was a nothingburger. A lot of the A or S-tier cast members, be it freeloader or fish, get bumped down a grade or two (Laura, Landon, etc) for overstaying their welcome. I didn't really understand the whole point of Landon not kissing Laura that night (which I respected him for) if he was just going to simp anyways and then get a kiss from an autist who thought it was disgusting. James Drake also definitely got coddled and overall I did not enjoy him as much as Bashir, Landon, or even Anissa/Twins. Yeah, he did some things that a normie would not do because he's a failed actor, but my first and lasting impression of him was just "washed".

This explains why they may have rigged it for him, if they were to rig it. But again, how was it rigged? Like genuinely. Unless I am forgetting something outside the fake boxing match at the end. What was tipped to allow him to win?

Because if the boxing match counts I am totally okay with that being how it works. The actual victor being decided through a challenge where they win completely fair outside of the challenges themselves being weird and random . They don't actually tell them the score, and then something more grandeous is filmed. But I feel that is completely different than S1 and now S5.

shit , you are right, i forgot Direnc, man its deppressing such a good fish was wasted in such a bizarre excuse of a season, i wouldn't mind her replacing one of the dud fish in S5

Did Aryeh do something fucked up after his season? Everyone I talked to about it said that he is an asshole.

Genuinely how I felt reading that.

WE HAVE MULTIPLE GIRLS THIRST POSTING ABOUT MEN

I think you fail to realize how girls tend to """thirst""" is different from men. Most men who post thirsty shit on the farms or 4chan are always on a different level. You men just post gross sex stuff and go into TMI far too readily. I don't want to hear about how attractive you find someone's Bingo Bongos.

Saying that you find a person admirable, talking about their interests, or saying they're virtuous is not the same as saying "I would suck her toes". I feel like you guys fail to understand this. The reason females posting about men is tolerated here is 100% related to the quality and content.

Also, it's not FAIRTHREAD
