My favorite is *long pause* "oh my gawd, no one in the chat can agree. Does anyone actually know the answer?"
It's really funny that he thinks that a twitch chat is ever gonna shout one answer, especially when half are probably trolls.
For me the best part is when he gets to a part that looks scary to him, he stops dead in his tracks and and immediately looks at stream chat for 30 seconds waiting for an answer. He stretches his neck so far and so quickly its hilarious.

Things like this are for if you have parties. With friends. Meaning you need friends.

The King of Gout has no friends. The King of Hate has no friends.

He's succeeded at alienating anyone who was on a friendly basis with him.

Rambo? Check.
Howard? Check.
Respect the Pact? Check.
Leanna? Check.

Leanna was the last thread connecting Phil to any kind of normal social interaction. Without her, he is now able to fully isolate himself and truly become an island. He's got his parents, but for how long is anyone's guess. Besides them, his social interactions are entirely based around his streaming lifestyle; and his patrons are the only ones he feels any pressing need to show common courtesies. Basically, Phil now operates with the idea that you should pay for his time and attention. If you can't give him money, you're of no use to him and he can do without you. What's worse is that his obvious paranoia about detractors descending upon his house to hurt him is a common mental consequence of this kind of isolation behavior, and it can get much worse the longer the reclusive state is continued.

DSP is like a stranded whale on the beach.
No one can really help so it will die sooner or later but it's best adviced to watch it from a distance when it explodes.

That's exactly what he is. He's a stranded whale on his couch that nobody can help and he'll end up exploding on stream. He already "exploded" on stream once so I wouldn't put it past him to have a giant angry outburst when he comes back from vacation and the bits aren't flowing as freely.

DSP tries it: American Hikikomori

"A distinguishing feature of histrionic patients lies in the emphasis they place in their personality, interactional manner, and dress for the transmission of sexual signals. This amounts to a type of self-dramatization through sexuality. Histrionic patients will often seem to exaggerate culture-bound gender symbols. In men and women this can take two disparate forms but with an underlying common theme: the dramatic highlighting of sexual stereotypes. In histrionic men one such form is the hypermasculine "cowboy." This contrasts with the effeminate "interior decorator" type. In histrionic woman one form is the hyperfeminine "charming hostess," which contrasts with the masculine "boardroom director" type"

"The male patient, on the other hand, is inclined to portray himself in the roles of hero, clown, or "macho," using some distortion of fact."

"Male histrionic patients may also complain of headaches, back pain, gastrointestinal disturbances, and other somatic symptoms. Frequently, histrionic patients possess the fantasy that they have a disorder that is beyond the ken of ordinary physicians. They will often resort to herbal remedies and alternative medical practices in the belief that their physical distress will only respond to an unconventional or exotic treatment."

I'd read through the whole thing for a good top kek.

Most interestingly is that Darksydephil has been commented as looking like Ricky Gervais from "The Office". Ricky's counterpart in the US version of the show (Michael Scott) is actually a frequently cited exampled of someone with HPD:

Another look at Michael Scott/HPD: https://courses.lumenlearning.com/suny-hccc-abnormalpsych/chapter/histrionic-personality-disorder/

https://abnormalpsych.wikispaces.com/casestudies

considering the internet drastically effects any diagnosis, its easy to look at michael scott as what DSP would be like if he somehow landed a middle-management job and wasnt confined to using the internet on a day to day basis. Michael Scott is a good example of a male HPD as it usually presents more in females than males. especially since he doesn't display the 'seductive' trait.
King of Pol is that you?

I'm going to go full spergatron, so bear with me here.

I have a family member who has a lot of issues. He has a soup pot's worth of mental health issues and personality disorders, is extremely unintelligent (verified unintelligent, not just "hur hur he dumb"), and is almost certainly a high functioning autistic (why it isn't an actual diagnosis is a long and boring story).

I'm giving all this backstory for a reason. Because of some combination of the issues I mentioned, the guy does not know how to express emotions besides anger and... whatever emotion you would connect with whining. Happiness is completely beyond him. Because of this, he cannot laugh. He laughs like an alien who was told how laughter is supposed to sound, but has never actually heard it. When he attempts to laugh, he'll do one of two things:

-a short, humorless "huh huh huh"
-a loud barking laugh that sounds almost like he's breathing in instead of breathing out. Sucking in laughter. It's actually legitimately terrifying.

I have never, ever met anyone else who does this...

...except Phil. It is exactly like Phil.. What does this mean? I don't fucking know, and I'm not in a position to speculate. All I'm saying is that I cannot hear Phil laugh without thinking of a, frankly, mentally disabled 36 year old dude whose only true emotion is unhappiness.

123 Dark Souls 2 videos so far. Kinda sad that is still on the low side for him. These titles are garbage too. He fails when he is trying to be "creative" and he must have bugged caps lock mechanics.

-Part 126 "The Turd That Wouldn't Flush (INVASION!)"
- Part 122 "TIGHT Spaces and Big Fights"
- Part 112 "Room of Ruin Sentinels, JOY!"
- Part 90 "Welcome to Iron Keep! Where Trolling Runs DEEP"

I know he doesn't spend much time on it but the fact he puts any effort into these titles and this is the result is a waste of time. I left out "Some Titanite Farming" because that didn't stick out as awful it just stuck out as a video that should never have been uploaded.

And that TIHYDP will be 3 hours long, be really boring, and contain fights that DSP doesn't even fail at once for some odd reason, missing the entire point of a TIHYDP.
To be fair, a TIHYDP doesn't always have to be about Phil being salty and failing at combat. It can showcase Phil's own fails when it comes to entertaining his audience, in other words, being extremely boring to watch.
After all, it is called "this is how you don't play" and that can mean many things in Phil's case. Being a boring fuck is one of them. Obviously though, the entire TIHYDP shouldn't be just that aspect of him.

yeah hopefully this is not a sign of tihydp to come (not knocking @Vault Boy ---i know there's not much to work with):

he's just whining about dumb shit and getting his hand held as he runs past enemies. yawn.

one thing is interesting though: in his attempt at the chariot boss in his first run of this game and he also rolled past the wheel spikes (and acted surprised when he did it), so not sure why he's surprised he can do it now. he might have forgotten, but still kinda weird. In fact, side-by-side, he rolls at pretty much exactly the same place. I'm a bit suspicious now that he looked at his old run for help too---so he's in effect holding his own hand. i think it's pretty suspicious but you be the judge.

The problem is if it is a new single player game 99% of the time Phil's playthrough will be boring. Fighting games/online games still bring some good kahntent because chat can't help Phil when he is failing at Street Fighter/Overwatch etc. If he played Black Mesa today the famous "crouch jump" moment would never happen because Phil could just look to the side for chat to give him the answer. Between Phil not hitting any walls and people making a multi-hour TIHYDP for every game regardless of how boring the playthrough was you are most likely not getting an entertaining montage.

No offense to the makers of these videos I know how time consuming it is and they are always edited well, but as the old saying goes you can't turn chicken shit into chicken salad.

This is one of the worst things about TIHYDPs. Several hours of Phil being boring while some autist calls him boring is itself boring.

I prefer spectacular fails at incredibly simple things, especially when he repeats them over and over while throwing a tantrum and blaming the game.

Part of the reason I'm looking forward to him getting kicked off Twitch (which will happen some day) is so he won't have stream chat holding his hand through the games anymore. That's when you'll see stuff like his Black Mesa crouch jumps again.

The way that he (((asks))) his viewers for bits and other things is very reckless. It's a matter of time before someone, fed up with his bull shit and cuckoldry, record him violating Twitch ToS and have his channel handled.
