A Pakistani source involved in U.S.–Iran mediation told Reuters that backchannel diplomacy has made progress, with an upcoming meeting potentially leading to a memorandum of understanding and a broader deal within 60 days.

➡️ The source said both sides "agree in principle."

➡️ Pakistan’s army chief Asim Munir has been in Tehran since Wednesday and has helped make progress on key sticking points.
No no no no no no no no You can't do this to me. I bought a cake and everything

Western intelligence assessments say Iran reduced the impact of U.S.-Israeli strikes through extensive pre-war planning, allowing it to preserve key missile and drone capabilities and maintain command structures by quickly replacing killed leaders, Bloomberg reports.

➡️ Despite heavy infrastructure damage and the loss of senior figures, Iran is believed to still possess significant reserves of long-range missiles and thousands of drones, meaning it could respond if fighting resumes.

➡️ Dispersal of launchers and decentralization of command helped limit the damage, though continued strikes would still be needed to further degrade its capabilities.

➡️ These findings contradict claims by the Trump administration that Iran’s military had been largely destroyed, instead suggesting Tehran remains operationally capable and could use the ceasefire period to rebuild.
Also which "Western intellegence"? Yuropoor agitprop?
Lol. What "western intelligence"? The Frogs?

Also, lol @ this bullshit. We have known for FOUR TO SIX WEEKS that Iran Moasiac'd its drone and missile forces. Which has kept them from being decapitated but also left Iran with no way to command and coordinate their strategic forces.

And sure they have reserves of missiles and drones. As soon as they can uncollapse those mountains they can get to them.

Euroserf coping is at Max.

I'd bet this is also exaggerated. Iran's behavior is NOT that of a country with a strong internal structure remaining. While the idea that they could be ready for attacks if needed is easy to believe, the idea that losing so much top brass had a minimal impact is not what's playing out right now.
Its just reframing of Iran's "Mosiac Strategy" which we've known about for FOUR TO SIX weeks in this thread, combined with Strategic Martyrdom.
This is high levels of cope because having multiple levels of succession lined up means Iran had to use them because we were killing their leaders left and right. Its basically trying to reframe/spin Strategic Martyrdom so it doesn't sound like Iran is getting BTFO.

Posting this just for transparency's sake, but this reads as the biggest crock of horseshit to come out of Axios in a while, and that's saying something.

Daily reminder that Axios is run by Jeets.

Should have joined the Chair Force with the right ASVAB scores and a touch of the 'tism, we could order pizza and wings while defending the nation from Islamofascism. It's too bad the Pizza Index wasn't around then, we'd have way too much fun wasting funds ordering a ton of pizzas to fuck with people.
One of the companies in BCT had a DS who was a former MP and didn't want to be a DS, so when he was left alone with the company, he would put the offie phone out in the bay and let the recruits order Pizza, chinese, whatever. He'd let them get into their civie stuff to get out cash/Credit cards.
He'd put out the AV TV adn let them watch a movie or whatever was on TV.
I found out about this in AIT and was pissed.

Downrange, I met a husband and wife who had enlisted together and were in the same co-ed BCT. Both of them were like 32 when they enlisted, and said after Phase I DS would basically put them in charge of their respective companies.

Lol the Euros apparantly panicked because their grandstanding attempt to be the ones to open the strait is vanishing, are now all speaking out in unison like they are somehow involved.

Okay that is pretty fucking embarrassing lmao, Euros (Or more like just the United Kingdom and France) tried to play neutral world power diplomacy while Iran just acts without their input whatsover, imagine getting lil bro'd like that on the international stage by a second rate regional power.

Still, while Hormuz being free again is a very welcome development, lower energy prices is always good for the common man, it's not the end yet, all this means is that we have somewhat returned to the pre-war status quo, getting them to UNCONDITIONALLY (Not paying them SHIT as some sources seem to point at) to surrender their nuclear program is the holy grail of American and Israeli war goals.

Also, been keeping my eye on the war via WarMonitor on Twitter and he just posted this unprompted, maybe he has a little too much wishful thinking.

One of the funnier little side effects of this post of this is since he's not exactly the most Pro-Trump guy, he's attracted a substantial audience of full blown libtards who got mad about the fact that he approves deportations under the comment section.

Just waiting for the concept of "open strait" to get a bit muddled when no one on the big beautiful cultural mosaic mullah/IRGC side knows what the fuck is going on and decides to take the initiative. Which der Fuhrer will not like.

Not. One. Bit.

(I was promised Bridge and Power Plant day. When will get to the firework factory???)

So Trump seeks status quo antebellum? This entire shitshow starting with Americans feeling the gas price increases only for the regime to still exist will hurt him in the long term even more. I don't know why some celebrate no regime change being the objective as if it was a win.

I wonder how low gas will get today.

Do we think the war will start back up next week or the ceasefire will get extended
The fighting will resume, and we'll see something strange happen. The administration will declare it to be an entirely separate conflict, in order to reset the WPA time limit. Opponents will begin to argue, simultaneously, that the war ended with a decisive Iranian victory and that it also never ended at all.

I'd watch these kind of people over the next week or so. Let's all hope I'm wrong and an agreement can be reached.

Mate Iran has already won they shot down a c-130 and captured part of the wing, they'll leap ahead in wing technology now. They may have lost the battle but they won the war.

It didn't go anywhere as long or in depth as what your conversation sounded like, but the remarks about Iran included:
  • Anyone who joins the military will be dying for Israel
  • There's no reason for the US to be attacking Iran
  • The US is losing against Iran
  • Israel is worse than Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan (wow)

He keeps insisting America would make Iran swear off nuclear proliferation forever, which is pretty much the only geopolitically substantial change the war should achieve, otherwise this would all be just a pointless excursion in the most positive light, or more practically, a strategic failure on the part of the US and Israel.

i don't trust this tbh
this whole situation has swung back and forth so wildly so many times over the past months, i think it's best to reserve judgment until the whole thing is over and we actually know the real end result

I will not be surprised if things swing back the other way because the Iranian negotiations have been schizo since day one.

I will however keep pointing and laughing at the European leaders jumping over one another trying to claim participation trophies now though.
