The individual officers had a slam dunk defense with qualified immunity, and you would have needed to show that they were actually aware of Farty Tits' unhinged online behavior to even go down this road, which it doesn't appear that they were. And even if they were, simply knowing that someone is a crazy asshole does not create an exception to the warrant requirement. You need specific, articulable facts showing that there are presently exigent circumstances. Knowing that the suspect is nutso buttso helps, but it's not sufficient on its own.

The claim against the city is about an overall failure to properly implement policies to deal with swatting targets, and so again Rickles' personality issues aren't super relevant to that part.
