Honestly, the fact that current administration has met with Alberta separatists suggests that the United States may look at the fragmentation of Canada as serving its interests. Ottawa has spent more time ragging the puck on trade (because "Orange Man bad" plays well for domestic politics) that the United States recognizing Alberta as a sovereign nation--should a referendum prove successful--would do great harm to them. Plus, if China gains more influence in Parliament and the PMO, then it would make strategic sense for Uncle Sam let Alberta break away and join their orbit. Look at Trump's actions in Venezuela, Panama, Cuba, and now Iran. It was to curb Chinese influence and neutralize their allies--all great power moves.

The Ottawa regime is too feckless and stupid to realize that they aren't even players in this game.

For all extents and purposes our entire nation was founded on not being America and that defines our entire culture. There's a huge mishmash of British superiority complex and French narcissism running things, and the people in charge all come from a very small region that sees the rest of the country as nothing more then a colony that needs to be beaten down if it gets too uppity.

I never realized Canada was such a backwards hell-hole. All I knew about, as an American, was the MAID stuff, jeet takeover, and celebrities fleeing and then returning to California. What's the region these autocrats come from? Ottowa? Quebec? BC?

Only like half of the conservatives are right wing (the other half are PCs and pink Tories, which are basically blue libs). There's no reform/restore or one nation yet. Also the current alternative conservative movements are obviously feds, and are very superficial, when even groypers have a decent understanding of American history.

Yeah basically no one knows anything about Canada, which is why we don't have a horrible reputation like Britain, France or even Australia has. This might be changing considering that in the USA, even the Democrats are calling out Canadian tomfoolery like the Chinese EVs basically being spy boxes. Well I'm sorry that this is happening to you Canadians. It genuinely sounds like it's some dystopic shithole. It's a shame that any of our nations have to go through this, but it sounds particularly bad up there. My condolences. I hope it gets better for you guys.

What are your thoughts for the future? Will things get better? Worse? Do you hope that the provinces will secede from Canada?
