But it doesn't matter if you're at a German, Scottish or American school: It's always a place were you actually learn only basics which are often outdated by modern academic standards. Little example: Many history books are still painting greek and roman temples as boring white halls, while they were in fact quite colourful. But the technique that allows to find even littlest traces of old paints is new.

School education gives you some ideas about the world and teaches you ways to aquire new knowledge. It's a curriculum about things you should have heard about to be counted as a well informed modern day member of society, nothing more and nothing less. If there's a place where you may bitch about rote learning, it's your everyday school - but not the university.

Now I know why you believe you passed as a philosopher - because you got some neat grades at school. But sorry, you just heard something about philosophy at school. Maybe Plato's Cave and Theseus' ship - but you clearly have no idea how to implement it. You will now bitch about my "German finickiness", but I couldn't care even less. We mostly learned about fallacies and logic-tables, actually. It was very formalized. Only one unit was eventually going to be dedicated to continental philosophy and I blew my chances before completing the course.

It's not so much my IQ which is meaningful, but how it's structured, imparting me gifts people of a similar whole-scale IQ range don't have, like perseverence, philological prognostication, and a penchant for the memorization of esoteric philosophical works.

At the minimum, do I so successfully get committed by Lagoona, it would provide me with an opportunity to get an education; I just hope the charges she presses exceed a year sentencing time, then I can think about getting some kind of sociological credentials under my belt at the very least.

You can't rote-teach formal logic, that I do know. The logic table stuff was fairly fluid and can't be described as rote learning if each examinable example is different, as it was in the modular test.
