Or are we going to argue that a goldman sachs investor getting replaced with a 30 year navy veteran (Hung Cao) is a bad thing for a military position? I'd argue this is a good shift in the current context.

I think its patently obvious at this point that Iran is not taking its situation seriously. Another round of beatings is required. The 82nd Airnorne division HQ should be set up by now, and the second MEU will arrive this week along with a third air craft carrier. The US now has around 20,000 ground troops and the largest armada assembled since the Korean War.

I for one am fine with leaving Iran as is and just blockading them out of spite. Despite what youtube says, we CAN refine Texas oil into gasoline, hence the cheapness of fuel near Big Spring.

I actually care about not having an enemy aircraft carrier parked on our own critical chokepoint, and killing Danes is just good policy for anyone who doesn't want their monks bothered.

I cannot get over the fact that the shipping industry and Europe are shitting their britches over a navy that could be held off by a few dudes with light machine guns. You could, quite literally, solve IRGC interdictions by having a half-dozen armed guards aboard each ship.

Of course, this is a ploy by them to get hard currency, but why drop the Yuan?

Hey, give them a break. They have already had 40 meetings about this matter. About a 100 more meetings and they may come out with a scathing statement, apologizing to the IRGC.
