M16s are only 30k because of the 1986 machine gun ban. from 1934-1986 they just needed a tax stamp. which is still BS but more tolerable. the MG ban passed in part because it was tacked onto a otherwise good set of gun laws that restrained the ATF/FBI ability to regulate and surveil sales of guns and ammo. for instance, did you know that prior to FOPA 1986 the ATF was legally allowed to harass FFL holders out of business and 75% of their arrests were by method of entrapment? the ATF also required a registry of all ammunition sales by retailer, the sale of long guns across state lines was banned and shipment of ammo via mail was illegal. basically, if you owned a gun the man had a open door into your life and you couldn't stop him from coming in.

The FOPA stopped all that. ATF can now only audit your FFL once a year, if that. I've never been audited. you can ship ammo and long guns. ammo registries are banned. The FOPA was opposed by all the usual suspects: Anti-gun groups, police unions etc.

The machine gun ban was tacked on by anti-gunners in hopes that the bill would be voted down or that Reagan would veto. it did not work. The MG ban needs to be repealed, but the rest of FOPA needs to stay in effect.

I"m still trying to understand why the splc indictments would have anything to do with Candace. It's more likely she's going back to the UK to find another firm to represent her in her lawsuit after loomer and co harassed her current lawyer into quitting the case.

Yeah, I can't see the disenfranchisement of VA as anything besides begging for violence.

But what always kills me about that is that Dems lose that civil war ten times out of ten. If you take it to violence their soft power is fucking useless. As the Military uses what it uses, domestic production freshens the pot. You can’t just pump crude and store it indefinitely. You certainly can’t with refined fuels. These things have shelf lives. The best longterm storage method is simply leaving it in the ground until you need it.

The day to day uses of 300+ million people are where the imported oil goes to, as well as providing the feedstocks of domestic production. We’ve been capping domestic wells with millions of gallons of annual production for decades, because it would be stupid to allow ourselves to be controlled from without in an all out war situation. If oil is indeed finite, keeping our own domestic share underground until absolutely necessary is how White adults play the long game, Brownie. Don’t bother posting hands - if you’re indeed White, it was wasted on you.

It was also never approved by Congress, the corrupt chairman (Rep. Rangel, D-NYC) just lied:

The motion to proceed failed the voice vote, yet the Chairman lied and said it passed. Other Congressmen demanded a recorded vote where it failed 297-124, yet the Chairman ignored the results and still brought the amendment up for a voice vote, where again, the Nays clearly had it. He then refused to have a recorded vote until time ran out.

Another fun fact, this footage was lost media for over 20 years, almost like someone did their best to make sure that it was lost. Until a forum user thought to check the archives at his university, basically no one even knew that the vote's passage was faked by Rangel.

Iirc, a user on CalGuns was the one that found the footage on VHS in the stacks and it was a collaborative effort from /pol/, /k/ and Reddit to help talk the guy through making a full backup and getting it uploaded to Youtube, Vimeo, etc.
