Mega Rad Gun Thread

One thing I've noticed is a not-insignificant group of people that were paying for tax stamps prior to this year that are very salty that now that the government doesn't get paid $200 to do their fucking job for each transaction more people are now registering SBRs and buying cans. The seethe from those people is fucking hilarious.
I bought the cheapest livescan fingerprint machine I could on ebay when I saw the BBB pass and have been making bank at local gun shows doing receiver engraving, making EFT files, and helping people setup eforms accounts. More than a few have walked up and complained that wait times are up and implying I'm making it worse for them by getting more people to submit form 1s.

Here's something interesting: the Silver Creek Firearms 4110 .357 Magnum revolver. It's a DA/SA revolver, holds 7 rounds, and I believe it loads and unloads like a Colt SAA instead of having a swing-out cylinder like most double action revolvers. It has a variable twist rifling where the twist rate becomes tighter/faster as the bullet gets closer to the muzzle. 6", 8", and 10" barrels are available, as are a number of different options for the grips. I'd be really interested in this same design in .41 Magnum, .44 Magnum, or even .454 Casull. Unsure what the price is, but I'll bet it ain't cheap.

Tell those people to go fuck themselves.

They'll be gloating hard if the democrats raise it to 5,000 or whatever they threatened.
Gain twist rifling is a thing, but I'm still not sure what the use case is relative to constant rate.
in the old percussion colts (and early cartridge colts) the gain twist rifling was meant to be able to stabilize both round ball and conical projectiles. I assume the other gun makers at the time were doing the same.

I'm unsure of its utility on a modern gun. I'd guess its to be able to stabilize over heavy or over light projectiles.
a fixed cylinder is far stronger than a swing out or break action revolver. it's also simpler to make, in theory at least.

I’m aware. Unless you’re looking to bring back .357 atomic what the hell are you planning to shoot that an L frame might as less N frame can’t handle?
I guess it might just be easier for them to machine. less steps I'd assume. but IDK. I think they are fuck ugly. problem in search of a solution.

The only thing I've heard is that it would theoretically reduce wear at the throat of the barrel, but that's just hearsay from internet circles, and frankly it sounds like it'd be such a minor optimization assuming it's even true.

even Sam Hyde brought this up. your kinda fucked shooting in self defense in the USA. and anything you used for it is going in an evidence locker forever after that sadly. Their is not a win self defense situation or even in the cases like these
anyone know of a better country for castle doctrine ? or jury laws ?

It depends on several factors, but generally in more conservative parts of the country, the better off you'll be in a self-defense shooting. There are still plenty of places where if the police can clearly see it was a justified shooting they won't even take your gun for evidence. Even Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted in a jury trial. Generally, the more pro-gun and pro-rule-of-law the area you live in is, the better off you'll be if you have to defend yourself.

How about Houston , and how would you rate the police for corruption and other shit

The thing about self defense with a gun ks you basically need to commit to also knowing the letter of the law for your home area and also to keeping a lawyer on speed dial

I imagine it's like any other nigger infested Democrat hellhole. I love Texas, but if I ever had to live there it wouldn't be in any of the big cities like Houston or the DFW area. It's always best to live away from the cities and at least live in the suburbs, preferably ones without a Democrat DA and Chief LEO. Your chances in a self-defense shooting go up dramatically if the DA and CLEO are Republicans.
