I know you don’t reply to people who reply to you but this is mostly for others: the events that shape an election happen prior to the election. 4-6 weeks. They aren’t always October surprises they can also be September. But 6 weeks seems to be the maximum amount of time you can make someone care about something in a news cycle.
The 2024 elections disagree. Biden candidacy was utterly destroyed out of nowhere in the debate in the summer of 2024. Killing the momentum the Democrats had as the incumbent party. Secondly the failed assassination attempt on trump much earlier than September gave him almost a mandate of heaven effect. Something which actually drew evangelicals.

Back when he was actually relevant, Karl Rove had a reputation as a hack who said whatever the most powerful republician in the room wanted to hear "Here's how Bush can still win in 2008" type of stuff. If he's saying this either it's true or he has a beef with DeSantis.

Big ticket items like jobs and affordability, both of which Trump is failing at now will need longer than 6 weeks to pick up steam and make an impact in the polls in time for people to feel better in the midterm voting booth to vote "R".

Early July he will be distracted by the 250th activities. Expect tons of columns about Americans future and some reflection, I'd say if theres no signs of ACTION by late July to improve affordability, I would start preparing for a worst case scenario. The issue isn't his economic message getting through, its the lack of agenda and action to improve the situation, and this was a large concern of mine even before the Iran war.

We're in K shaped economy now which means affordability is judged by new metrics. The president fails to understand the new landscape.

Bidens problems was two fold, he was trying to convince the voters not to believe their lying eyes with runaway inflation, migrants and crime while also being too old to run. I wouldn't say its the same case, but still, a powerful lesson we haven't seen play out in modern politics.

Counterpoint: that was a widely televised presidential election, not a midterm election.

Also what happened in the 2024 presidential election was way more exceptional. It's not every election cycle you get both a failed assassination AND a candidate switcheroo.

Wait a tick, is it PRO or ANTI eugenics, because I would totally watch a pro eugenics documentary.
I've love to see a biography on Sir Francis Galton.. He was a cousin of Charles Darwin and a polymath that basically invented modern weather forecasts, among other things he was also the guy that brought eugenics to modern times. Super interesting shit if you are into it. Heredity Genius was a very good read.
