Has anyone ever figured out what it was about Stop Killing Games in particular that got Mald in such a whiny bitchy soy rage that he felt the need to try to destroy it entirely? Even the cope of "he just misunderstood it" doesn't make sense because he clearly said in no uncertain terms that he had no problems with games becoming unplayable.

I dont think he ever had a candid tell all on either that or any one of his controversies, he started out by misinterpreting the entire initiative and kept on moving goalposts or inventing very specific situations where you had to have increasingly convoluted reasons as to why it would be bad for devs
His original whine video and the part 2 is the closest thing, and its just him doing his dev larp by acting holier than thou while trying to explain how everyone in the comments was a retard simpleton. The pinned comment on part 1 is a pretty decent summary of his retardation, he probably went on further on twitter but i dont think he might've, i need to check

My bet is that he feels it should have been him carrying the mantle to save video games. Everything about his branding and stuff was to try and solidify himself as *the* indie guy. Ross was an immediate threat to his grift because the guy was actually doing something, and Jason's narcissism couldn't handle that. That's why he raged so hard about it whilst having to do every single thing in his power to misconstrue and reframe stuff, only to oxymoronically fall back to vaguely calling it vague.

This captures it well:

So what I'm getting from these two explanations is: there really isn't a good explanation, at least not one Mald has given. It could be jealousy, it could be corporate cocksucking, it could be to protect his own shitty business practices as a scam dev, it could even be that he was feeling particularly cunty that day and decided to take it out on Ross.

The only thing we know for sure is that one day, he decided to attack and slander a perfectly fine movement and then abuse his fanbase and SEO manipulation to try to destroy it, all out of spiteful, cunty rage.

my experience in first-person mode as a turbo autist tells me he said the first thing that popped into his head then doubled down and never looked back

PirateSoftware is being interviewed by Evil Eddie:
This is the most boring shit ever. The most technical thing Maldy has said is "AV1 encoding".

Anyways, here are some messages I grabbed.

A thought occurred to me: it's entirely possible that Mald was never the "Mastermind" behind the attack on SKG. There's a non-zero chance that, as a former employee of a sleazebag AAA company, one of his sleazebag AAA friends told him about how SKG would cut into their bottom line and sent him out as an attack dog against it because he had a platform.

It's a wee bit conspiratorial, but considering just how many shitty AAA and mobileslop devs you still see on places like LinkedIn and Medium decrying the evils of SKG with terrible arguments that make no sense, it seems pretty plausible that Mald might be sucking some corpo shill cock and did their dirty work.

The one major flaw in this theory is you have to assume Mald has maintain a personal or professional relationship for longer than a year or two without the other person realizing he's a horrible narcissist and cutting him off.

You're right, for the wrong reasons. Mald never masterminded an attack on SKG because Mald never applied his mind to the thing before going off on it, just during. He's a contrarian 'expert' at heart and so he tends to default to the position of "the laymans opinion is wrong and I know better" when it comes to anything he opines on. Normal folks think that the initiative is good? Then obviously its bad and I'm going to think out loud on why that is and call it my position. Once he started thinking out loud about it as a negative and hostile thing that he had to convince the layman of being awful, it just cascaded down into self justification and it built into a position that was actually attacking the things he cared about personally, because that's more or less the limits of his conception.

He quite literally worked himself up into a fervor of self fabricated lies, to justify himself being smarter than the layman and correcting them in the process.

So the only real question is whether he did it out of retard impulse or whether someone only marginally smarter than him used him as a gimp.

I think thats too much of a stretch, he is so unlikeable that unless someone gets something out of it openly i doubt many would associate with him unless they're on a weird same level of narc but not enough to not befriend him. Id buy that he was kingmaked by some talent agency or twitch themselves as a wholesome chungus inoffensive guy that they could then use as an ambassador, but a major dev working directly with him would be a too convoluted scheme to benefit them. Rivals of Aether 2 is the major game studio relationship he had and it was mostly because of Ludwig being a twitch retard.

What we need is the opposite of Lolcow of the year, just to give Ross an award.
Some Kick talent agency nigger likely discovered his 1000+ page Kiwi Farms thread and decided he'd be a good addition to the site's lineup of lolcows
I'm excited for his pivot to IRL streaming. I hope he gets addicted to cocaine.

Him being "interviewed" by Eddie from Kick makes me wonder what scammy bullshit he's got lined up.
I'm expecting just a bog standard "They pay better, and after all the attacks on me I don't have many options left, [insert ferret guilt tripping]". If we're lucky, he'll play it as a full Hate and Shame arc, but more likely he's trying to lay low and rebuild, based on his "I'm not as big of a creator as I was" admission, regardless of the deflection around it.

Kick probably likes the idea of getting to onboard the ferret permastream, they're always looking to buy opportunities to soften up their image, and "We have a 24/7 animal channel" is a pretty good one. And while Jason is audience controversial, he's not illegal levels controversial, so he's a net neutral for them.
