The only way to stop troonery is to just stop all medical interventions, regardless of age,, and have no further discourse about it.
Do that and there isn't a "beacon" to attract mentally ill people.

I'd imagine a way to do this outside of medical bans is to make the medical professionals bear the consequences of what they did. Like if the gender patient commits murder then they have to shoulder the blame too, likewise if the gender patient commits suicide.

The catch with that approach is that it'd be a bit like Ford being held responsible for a hit and run if one of their cars was used.

Well, maybe this approach would make it so the medical professionals actually do their job instead of playing activist. Suspending licensure or making them liable for lawsuits would definitely and hopefully make it so they do their jobs. Or alternatively make it mandatory for exploratory therapy for a period of two years before any medicalization or social transition takes place.
