Secret Service gear crosspost from USPG2
This has been my biggest hassle setting up a trust and navigating form 1's because I was under the impression I had to do a finger print card on my own or go through a service. All the information online has been shitty and misleading. Doesn't help ARFCOM is next to useless and gun subreddits (I loathe to mention them but at least they are active) are full of misinfomration.I bought the cheapest livescan fingerprint machine I could on ebay when I saw the BBB pass and have been making bank at local gun shows doing receiver engraving, making EFT files, and helping people setup eforms accounts. More than a few have walked up and complained that wait times are up and implying I'm making it worse for them by getting more people to submit form 1s.
There was a picture I saw but can't find it showing three suited agents with three completely different service pitols and the female agent using a holosun enclosed emitter optic. I feel standardization isn't there.Secret Service gear crosspost from USPG2

I'll avoid the useless nature of them and focus on why they are so pricey. The supply dropped and the demand went up with Forgotten Weapons fans and gamers (Escape from Tarkov being the latest). They are finding use in the Ukraine War so there is also another spike in interest. It's an interesting rifle with a storied history but there were so many better bolt-actions for the theaters of operations they were used in. Which is interesting to think about for a rifle design that's finding use in a 130 year time span.View attachment 8917014
are mosins really as dogshit as people say they are? and are they worth the 300-450$ i see them going for online?
If you can find a gun store with a Silencer Shop kiosk that was a pretty painless experience for me. It takes your fingerprints digitally, just takes a few minutes, fill out the necessary info either in the app or on the kiosk, then you upload a photo in the app and you're pretty much done. Gun store receives the info, takes your money and holds the can, and you get an email when you're approved by the ATF. Took about a month for a trust purchase to be approved, but this was back in mid-2024, no idea what the wait is these daysThis has been my biggest hassle setting up a trust and navigating form 1's because I was under the impression I had to do a finger print card on my own or go through a service. I ended up going through Silencer shop for the trust and Form 1's and so far I wouldn't recommend them.
If you don't plan on dying anytime soon and you plan to keep your NFA guns forever then file as an Individual. Approvals on Individual F1/F4s are about 2-3 weeks while on trust currently its anywhere between 1-90 days. This has been my biggest hassle setting up a trust and navigating form 1's because I was under the impression I had to do a finger print card on my own or go through a service. I have a metric fuck load of NFA stuff so if you guys have questions LMK!
Why can't I decide what my next gun will be and why can't I just settle on improving the ones that I already haveI have a metric fuck load of NFA stuff so if you guys have questions LMK!
This is why I set up a booth and spend a lot of time explaining how it works. Setting up a trust and eforms account is quick, but most people get lost once you start telling them you need to get and EFT file or paper fingerprint cards for each trustee and add engravings. Even the form 4 side is easy as long as your FFL/SOT is not an idiot. There is a lot of shitty info out there and it feels like silencer shop and others are trying to gatekeep the NFA process. This has been my biggest hassle setting up a trust and navigating form 1's because I was under the impression I had to do a finger print card on my own or go through a service. I used a kiosk at my local Fudd store for finger prints and it costed me $40 to use it. According to them silencer shop charges them every time the kiosk gets used so they don’t charge when it comes to items they can transfer like suppressors. I was under pressure to get the NFA paper work done so I didn’t go elsewhere and paid the $40.If you can find a gun store with a Silencer Shop kiosk that was a pretty painless experience for me. My only complaint is that I'm supposed to be able to view my stamp on the silencer shop site but it never showed up so I have to go to the ATF site to find it, not that I've needed it, and I have the physical paperwork anyway
I may just switch it individual because the wait times are scary and don’t match what the ATF is posting on their site. Silencershop already screwed up the Form 1 paper work and used my state police as local LEO instead of the country sheriff. Don’t know why they would use the one state agency that has a vested interest in who is getting items they can confiscate when those laws get passed. If you don't plan on dying anytime soon and you plan to keep your NFA guns forever then file as an Individual. Here's one I got recently on a trust

If you guys aren't already you guys should use National Gun Trust Form Generators, they're great.
I have a metric fuck load of NFA stuff so if you guys have questions LMK!
When you setup your trust you have to get everyone's finger prints and submit it when you do the Form1/4 so just keep a copy of their prints so you can submit everything yourself.I have a couple family members I would like to make a trust with, since we would like to borrow each others goodies but also we wanna play by the rules.
Everything makes sense for when you set up the trust originally, however I dont really understand the process for when you wanna add more stuff to the trust. It sounds like everyone has to approve it and go through the NFA process each time you wanna add a new NFA item to the trust, which sounds like a pain in the ass. Am I just retarded or...? No it is the lawyers and politicians who are wrong.
Because at the back of your mind you know midterms are coming up and everyone will be dumping PSA 200 dollar ar15s for 2-3k again ( people will buy them) and that means anything you want is going up in price too.Why can't I decide what my next gun will be and why can't I just settle on improving the ones that I already have
for Individual submissions yup it sounds about right, the longest one i've see was 3 weeks max. This is why I set up a booth and spend a lot of time explaining how it works. Recent individual F4s I have sent in have been taking 2-5 days, I have a trust F4 thats been pending since January 20th and I'm going to poke the ATF about.
lmao report them to silencershop that shit is free to use.I used a kiosk at my local Fudd store for finger prints and it costed me $40 to use it. notifying your local LEO dosen't really matter that much, it wont cause a denial. I snail mail them a copy of the atf form and thats it. I can confidently say your LEO will shred that shit or it will go straight into the recycle bin unopened.I may just switch it individual because the wait times are scary and don’t match what the ATF is posting on their site. I seriously want to fedpost right now but I will refrain from doing so.lmao report them to silencershop that shit is free to use.
Never go to shot show kiwi, the gun industry has their eyes wide shut parties too.I seriously want to fedpost right now but I will refrain from doing so.
Why does this industry attract so many charlatans?
Allen regularly went to a shooting range to train with his firearms, and was a part of a group called “The Wide Awakes,” the sister said in the interview, according to the official.
Records show that Allen purchased a Maverick 12 gauge shotgun in August 2025 and an Armscor Precision .38 semi-automatic pistol in October 2023.
A senior law enforcement official told NBC News those were the two weapons they recovered from Allen on Saturday night.
I didnt realize I could submit their paperwork on behalf of them. That's not bad at all then. When you setup your trust you have to get everyone's finger prints and submit it when you do the Form1/4 so just keep a copy of their prints so you can submit everything yourself.
Yep they just submit with the trust and finger printsI didnt realize I could submit their paperwork on behalf of them. That's not bad at all then.
I imagine they could do the same whenever they buy something and wanna add it to the pile?

Good non-corrosive ammo is cheap compared to other similar milsurps and parts and upgrades are plentiful, they can be decently accurate when they have a good bore and the action is shimmed or bedded properly. They are pretty well made rifles but for the current prices there are comparable mauser action rifles and other designs like lee enfields, manlichers, carcanos, and swiss straight pull rifles, all of those will be smoother but ammo is more expensive. If you are deadset on getting a mosin just be patient and get one of the carbines like the M44 or a finish mosin, 91/30 prices are pretty inflated. Honestly the main thing the mosin has on other milsurps is the ammo cost, and on top of that they used to be fantastic when there where 100$ 91/30s but those days have long since past.View attachment 8917014

TLDR: ammo cheap, get one of the more interesting patterns than bog standard 91/30 that is overpriced.
