You have it backward.

If your contract ends and you don't re-sign, you can be on TV the next day for anyone else.

If WWE releases you from your contract, you either take 90 day paid before you can go elsewhere, or be immediately released with no pay, at the company's option, which means you sit out the 90 days if they cut you early, or they do what they did to Nick Nemeth and make it a condition of your release that you can't work for one specific competitor for 2 years.

At the time of his cancellation, Ryan had largely ceded his role in the woke mafia to Effy. Ryan had also at the time, rebranded himself a social conservative wokescold per rumors that he had been blocked from appearing on AEW television due to him refusing to drop doing his "grab his dick" gimmick. Ryan allegedly had lost a lot of money via the pandemic shutting down the indie scene and gotten hired by TNA, having agreed to rebrand himself and his woke scold gimmick was his mocking people who were starting to make noise about him causing problems for talent that refused to do his dick grab spot.

One of the greatest modern era six-man matches. Two complete opposite groups coming together and having a blowout. Hard to believe this match is 12 years old now, and Bray and Luke are no longer with us.

Here's one thing that jumped out to me at the start of that match that I think ultimately sums up why Bray Wyatt didn't work.

Michael Cole: "Earlier today, Bray Wyatt sent out this tweet, which said..."

On the one hand, this is basically the modern equivalent of the little picture in picture promos they'd do on Superstars back in the day or the Funeral Parlour, so it is hard to say that the Undertaker would never do that. But...Twitter is a platform available to any fucking idiot (like me), whereas being interviewed by Mean Gene or having a segment on a TV show isn't something any fucking idiot could have (just money marks like Herb Abrams or Tony Khan.)

It is hard to take the weird swamp hill billy cultist seriously when he's using social media.

The other problem is that Bray just seemed to be like a kid with ADHD. Couldn't decide on a direction which led to his promos being nonsensical gibberish akin to a Warrior promo (but without that badass vibe Warrior was good at projecting.) He went from Swamp Cultist to Slasher Villain to Outwardly Normal/Monster Underneath. I would've liked to have just seen Swamp Cultist get fleshed out into something really creepy and given time.

That match is rad, though.

Fuck any wrestler who ever did a "Flipped by another man's dick" spot or invisible hand grenade or wrestled the invisible man. For once I agree with Cornette. Bray Wyatt was a fucking dork who gOt HiS fLoWeRs (we need to do away with that term because it is the gayest thing I've ever heard) because he died young. A mediocre job guy just like Brodie Lee. Nobody gave a fuck about you when you were alive because you sucked, your ideas sucked, and when they let you have even the slightest amount of creative over your own shit you had a mountain dew match against LA Knight that fucked up his momentum.
You suck, and I hope your half nigger kids don't get sucked off by WWE for 6 years like Brodie Lee's kid.
As heartbroken as I am about Kairi getting released I'm jumping for joy that every remnant of that faggot Bray Wyatt is off WWE television.

Now there's a velvet mafia-type clique running indie wrestling with Effy where he cancels people who don't share his politics and if the rumors are true, got an entire promotion taken down because they exposed one of his friends, Mark Haggerty, for being a pedophile.
 
I can't tell if the lot of you are butthurt over the fact that sandman is tarnishing his legacy or the fact that Tony Khan has been granting Brodie Lee's son a six years and counting make a wish because his dad died, or the fact that Bray Wyatt was a hack and his character was gay cringe.

You know what's not at all tiresome? Seeing comments on matches of other promotions that say, "This is better than WWE." These comments are not daring or original, it's a cheap pop for the IWC. Focus on the promotion you're watching and don't have WWE live rent free if you claim you're done with it.

It just resulted in these spots are allowed to be done by men on men or women on women (the latter either being progressive or exploitive varies on the company).
 
The biggest fumble I think they made with the Fiend was putting the title on him - ignoring how Bray was never exactly a good worker in ring, the last thing the Fiend should’ve cared about was the World Title, mostly because that would hamstring any bright ideas Bray had because they’d have to work in “oh btw the slasher villain is World Champion.”

It’s why I still get a kick out of him just completely no-selling losing the title to Goldberg. If anything that removed an albatross from him, though considering every other issue Bray’s creative had with not translating well into wrestling…

Shit on Tony Khan as we do, he deserves the vast majority of it, I’ll at least give him props for deciding “He died under contract, I’ll make sure his kids looked after financially.” He didn’t have to do that, but he did, so I’ll give him a bonus point there.

His kid routinely showing up on TV on the other hand, that part could fuck all the way off.
 
Wasn't there a large number of top carders who said they wouldn't work with him because the spooky would make them look stupid?

Speaking of spooky stuff dirt sheets are saying Aleister Black isn't welcome back at AEW
