Since the start of the war, my biggest worry was that it would harm Trump and company in the Midterms. Normie voters would be miffed at the gas prices, and higher-propensity individuals including most Democrats and around half of Republican leaners tend to disapprove of the war (per Pew, March 2026).
Well, as of about an hour ago, it turns out that may be much less of an issue than expected. Thank you Justice Alito for indirectly clearing the path to TOTAL TWELVER DEATH!

normal people can smell disingenuous bullshit like purposely misunderstanding your opposition so you can dismiss it or beat on a straw man.
It's weird that you start your post saying people lack reading comprehension replying to your posts. But end your post saying exactly why people aren't taking your posts seriously.

The thing is democrats and doomers were caterwauling and selzer poll predicting about a blue wave well before the war even started. Historical trends also favor the party in power losing in the mid terms. So if you hold them to their professed opinions, then Trump was going to lose the House no matter what, and at the end of the day whether he loses 20 house seats or 25 doesn't really make a difference. The democrats are running the same circus the next two years regardless of how big their supposed House majority ends up being. They are going to impeach him every month and try to drag everyone he has ever spoken to or interacted with in front of their star chamber committees.

So Trump has literally nothing to lose. He won the last election that matters to him. Might as well just do whatever he wants and keep his foot on the gas. It's not like if he suddenly made some shitty peace deal with Iran the Democrats would stop trying to kill/imprison him. The things he has done for the past year and a half he's done without Congress anyway since in the House he has like a 2 seat majority and in the Senate the dingbats block anything substantial. He's been governing via executive power as opposed to legislation all along, and he'll keep doing that.

The United Nations has chosen Iran to serve as a Vice President of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Review Conference.

Iran is so hard up for cash they're taking money to run ads for some Russian scam conference.

I get that a lot of these people hate America and barely disguise their desire to see America destroyed.

But come on. All we hit were fancy decoys over the last two months? I can see why they send their kids to our universities if this is the best they can manage domestically.

Except its too late to change the districts for this election
It varies from state to state. There are several states that redistricted last year because the deadline is a year before general election day, some states the deadline is their primary election day

One police officer killed, three wounded in shooting in southeast Iran as of 9 hours ago. Specifically the incident happened in Zahedan, so it was probably the work of Baloch separatists.

In another sign of Iran's economic meltdown, Iranians in Iran are complaining that Islamist security forces are now aggressively guarding exchanges, closing them down & arresting people. Also CNN (one of the least Trump-friendly sources imaginable) had an article out yesterday, further reporting on Iranian economic woes - even key industries are having to lay off workers with as many as 50% of jobs in the country being at risk now, national average income per person's gotten cut in half compared to the last decade and will continue to worsen, etc. (Archive)

The closing of the exchange offices in Ferdowsi Square, Tehran, and the attack of security forces on brokers and bazaars in Tehran. The arrest of various exchange offices in Tehran has begun. We are also witnessing the cessation of displaying currency prices on the Iranian gold and currency website, and people are flocking to gold shops and exchange offices!!

Hyperinflation imminent, mass unemployment, and riots over water in a couple of months; Iran sure is winning!

So without simping for Iran, how do we know that cops/basij getting shot is an actual symptom of worsening domestic stability and not the equivalent of pointing out every time a dindunuffin manages to land a bullet in a cop at home?

The military is just a huge lifetime gubmint gibs program now
He's not wrong.

A lot of under-35s are racking up VA benefits for gay shit like migraines, depression and asthma and going home with 50-100% disability for shit that never even happened to them in training or during their service.

No thank you for your service if you are one of these. We have enough former drone opetators banking 100% disability from the VA for sore feet while also working 40 hours a week and kayaking on the weekends.

If you are hurt, that is different. But if you work 40 hours a week and also collect more than your paycheck in VA benefits for some random "disability" despite being in shape and bragging about the second or third truck you just bought for your upcoming hunting trip... NO THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

From what I've read the Baloch insurgency used to be a pretty weak & ineffectual one, usually managing like 3 significant attacks that actually kill Islamist security forces a year (ex. in 2020, '24, etc.). They're ordinarily more of a problem for the Pakis than Iranians, but just from what I & others have found for this thread, it seems they've been more active & gotten more kills in the past 4 months than they usually are in entire years.

Agreed, and based on the reporting of their targets (hapless local cops and soft targets like local government buildings) the Baloch insurgents aren't coming close to presenting a threat to the regime. They're an annoyance and any important industrial, infrastructure, or IRGC/military seems insulated against their activities.
