Yeah I actually didn't hate this, it wasn't anything great but it wasn't offensive either. Ian seemed much more alive and less brainbroken, so it makes sense that the footage was old.

I wasn't a fan of the squirrel videos, but if he had just kept up this series, making a video like this per month or per two months, I am confident he would have grown a stable audience on the second channel. It would have taken a bit of time and promotion, but eventually animal lovers would have discovered the videos and he could have shifted that channel towards more normie/YT friendly stuff. Hell, Anisa could have done her stupid reptile larp on it. Now it's too little too late though, and all the comments being filled with hate isn't helping either.
 
Something that made my ears perk up in the new squirrel video is around the 7:50 when he is in one of the museums looking at a lightbulb for a lighthouse that was 1000 watts he mentions that he has an even bigger light that is 1400 watts at home.

If they are growing I guarantee they aren't producing anything. 1400 watts is what you use for industrial grows in warehouses. Home growing you don't need more than 240 watts. If they are growing using a light that powerful all they are doing is frying the plants and racking up a massive electricity bill.

At first I jumped to infrared bulbs, lizards and all, but I wonder if its actually just a bulb for their film lighting. I'm not well versed on how bright those get, and I don't think they have anything old/specialist enough that it'd use something other than LED's, but Ian's also a bit retarded, so he might be recalling some manufacturing script of "1400watt equivalent luminescence LED"

Based on precedent, I think that he simply has one of those systems that are labelled as "equivalent to these many watts" and took it at face value IF he really is growing weed.

If he really is talking about a single light bulb, then he must be talking about a studio light. The issue is that if it really has 1400 watts then that means he didn't go for your standard Arri Fresnel (around 1000 watts). Which leaves us with two possible scenarios:

A. He overspent on a studio light that goes for about 12 times the price of an Arri and still not quite 1400 watts.
B. He went vintage for something like a Broncolor. Cheaper but still fucking stupid.

I'm leaning B because it is around 1400 watts, it is cheaper and fucking stupid which explains why his basement videos look the way they look.
