Overwatch

Doomfist has explicit permission do unspeakable things to me :deviant:

Jokes aside, I personally like the idea of having one main in each category so I can switch around if needed. I didn't have anybody in offense bc none of the characters there appealed to me... That's dealt with now.

Also,I'm madly in love with his painted skin.

Since Sombra is basically my main DPS, I'm cool with him. Gives me more of a reason to play her. His ult looks like it could be extremely annoying though, and a bit unfair considering all other ults require the character be onscreen. I wonder if Blizzard plans on altering past ultimates at all.

Also I haven't been keeping up with this thread so forgive me for suddenly replying to everything.

This doesn't even touch on the amount of times that I've gotten sexual comments. It's always gross and uncomfortable. Sometimes it just lasts during champ select where a guy's like "Hey baby, why don't you tell me your kik," but there have been several times when guys have done this to me throughout the entire match. One time I got a guy two games in a row who, for the entirety of both games, made comments about having sex with me while making moaning noises. Another time a guy who I friended after a game asked for my social media, saying that he bet "my body matched my voice." I told him I didn't want to give it to him because it made me uncomfortable. Every time I logged on he would ask me for it, and eventually I just blocked him. This is the kind of stuff every girl goes through, not just mercy players.

For the rest of the game that girl's every move will be scrutinized. If she makes a mistake and dies with rez she gets flamed. If she doesn't heal Tim and he dies she gets flamed.

It doesn't help that Tim just dislikes mercy as a character so he'll sometimes talk shit because of that. It pissed me off immensely a few weeks ago when a mercy was carrying the game but he gave her shit because she died with rez once. I heard him call a girl a whore (not to her but still on stream) and chat went wild over it. A few days ago there was a girl mercy on stream who couldn't play any other healers. Now, this isn't good, when you get to a higher elo it's best to try to learn extra characters so you can switch if you need to, but she DID switch to Lucio and wasn't doing well on him. Tim and chat made fun of her because of everyone's idea that he's an easy hero (he's really not).

I'm talking about the ones who just queue up for a game and wind up in another streamer's match with chat constantly talking shit about her. I hit masters last week and it's honestly become a fear of mine that that this might happen to me. Pathetic? Maybe. Egotistical? Sure. The odds of me running into a streamer are low, especially one who's popular. I probably won't ever make it beyond low masters so it's very unlikely, but every time I watch a stream and see stuff like this happen to a girl I can't help but put myself in their shoes and think that it could be me.

I don't like entering a game with a target immediately put on my back. I don't like feeling anxiety and wondering if I should speak early on so people get used to me being a girl or wait until the middle of the match so they're less likely to comment on it. I don't like coughing and trying to deepen my voice in order to sound less feminine. I don't like knowing that in some way I'm contributing to a stereotype that people make fun of and wondering if I should feel guilty about that.

don't have a mic, so that has never been a problem for me. It's not something I've noticed either, but it still sucks to hear. I guess there's both a plus and a negative to not having a mic - on the one hand you don't get harassed for your voice, but on the other you can be subjected to assholes trash-talking you because they don't like how you're playing and you have no way of defending yourself. (The latter has, unfortunately, happened to me on occasion.)

I play on console, solo-q, with no mic; don't even bother joining voice chat, mainly because out of the few times I did, once was only a kid, and the others no one was talking. But this kind of shit, along with being hassled for my plays/character picks, is also a huge factor why I don't even bother. I play the game to blow off steam, not get into arguments with asshats. Downside, of course, is that I'm leaving the team balancing up to RNG. And with that, I've found it's about 70/40 I'll have to be healer...so I go Mercy. Why? Well, I'm shit at Lucio (thank you @Michel for acknowledging HE IS NOT EASY TO PLAY). I haven't mastered wall-riding yet, so that's like...what, two thirds of the characters usefulness/uniqueness/mobility cut away? And Zenyatta, I can play but not as well; he and Ana's ults, I feel like most of the time I'm wasting because I'm not sure what situations are most useful to bring them out. Also I'm shit at sniping, so Ana's out lol. (This is all speaking Compwise, btw.)

Mercy? Damn son. She's an incredibly fulfilling character to play, when things go right; and when I'm playing her, more likely then not things will go right, or at least well enough that I feel like the fact we lost isn't ENTIRELY my fault for being shit at the character. It feels good when I'm able to fly over to a lone teammate, losing a 1v1 or 1v2, and help them pull off an otherwise grim-chance escape. It feels great when I'm able to keep the team alive and together through a pull, and FANTASTIC when I can pull off those sweet, sweet 4-5 man res's. And yeah, it even feels good when I'm able to pull away the enemy attention for a bit, even if I die from it; ESPECIALLY if I can get them to waste their ults on me.

Idk man. Even if she's a one trick pony, she's damn good at it, and often can turn an otherwise dire situation into a win.

Just don't look in the Custom Game lobbies.

Seriously don't.

Jesus fuck not even OW is safe from Furry RP servers.

are there many "daddy rein punishes little torblets" servers on PC? for some reason those are the most disturbing-sounding to me
although i enjoy the straight up "[18+] MIC ONLY" ones that are blatantly just there to beg for mic sex
miccing? micing?

(In the middle) I'm glad Skeletor found work after He-man was cancelled and he became a tranny

I'm irrationally upset Soldier 76's dance is not in there

I hear you. My ex once said that Lucio was "braindead" but seriously, if you can't utilize his wall-ride well you shouldn't pick him. Zen I still need to actually try outside of the practice range. Haven't even bothered to touch Ana because my sniping skills leave a lot to be desired.

Mercy is a great healer and I wouldn't really say no to a Mercy on the team, it's just an issue when you get in a team with 2 or more Mercy mains. I don't have problems with Mercy mains I just sort of wish they could play the other supports too(people fighting over who gets to play Mercy or the person who can only play Mercy dictating who people should play is a bit annoying). I mainly play all the tanks/supports because in season 3 and 4 it seemed like no one wanted to play anything but DPS, but now I'm seeing a lot more Mercy mains in comp.(still don't see people willing to play tanks tho)

Zen ult is good for saving yourself from a Genji ult imo(or everyone is critical at the same time holy shit) and you get Ana ult so fast you really shouldn't worry about holding it for something big, unless someone else has an ult.

Uninstalled the game today. A new hero isn't enough to cover the rest of the problems that the game has, like lack of maps, game modes, balance issues etc.

I'm very curious to see how many people will still be playing it over the next year.

The hype is starting to fall off, and if they don't fix some of the issues (Korea's been complaining about the stale meta for a couple weeks now, and it's dropping off over there), then I can see Overwatch just becoming a decent shooter but not the super hyped thing it was last year.

I think with adding new characters is how they keep hype, I would prefer new maps though. Also the 'this hero needs to be nerfed' each week is starting to get annoying
People want Mercy to be nerfed but tbh she's slow as fuck if alone and easy to dive on. (I know gaurdian angel allows her to get away but the flankers have more mobility moves that allows them to catch up)

'Mercy on 2cp can just fly right out of spawn and res everyone!'
If you know you killed Mercy first on 2cp then your flanker needs to do their job and harass her right outside of spawn! She still has to at least turn a corner or two to get to the final point.

'All she does is hide and press Q'
I will say the res inside of spawn is bs but they fixed that. Also several heros hide in different areas to get good ults.

'Ressurect isn't good because it'll undo all the work we did'
tbh if you have to waste all 6 ults for a team fight then your team sucks

It just annoys me because either people get their way and the character stops seeing play and then people bitch they nerfed them too hard. Also these people only complain when the problematic character is on the other team, never seen someone cry about a Mercy on their own team.

The Dev Update is already out and there are also people playing him in the PTR right now as we speak. Here's Jeff Kaplan discussing Doomfist:

Yeah, I'm slightly disappointed by that, but I still like his backstory.

I'm waiting for the day that people start making Doomfist parodies of the Old Spice commercials once his character model drops in GMod.

Hey its Shaq from Steel crossed with Luke Cage

I need more new maps in my life to change things up. Oh, and for Doomfist to come to console.

I've seen all of the maps multiple times already over 100s of matches. 6 hours as D.Va and a whole slew of second string or defense mains like Pharah, Torb, and Hanzo for at least 2 hours on each of those.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks!

That's usually what I ended up saving the Zen ult for; saving my own ass. Also harassing the other team. When I first started playing, I would run up to the tanks and corner them, screaming "EMBRACE TRANQUILITY BITCH" because I thought his ult did damage to the other team. Turns out people were just potshotting the poor, confused, blinded player while I wiggled madly in front of them. Good times.

But yeah, now I just pop on to do lootboxes, try to level up once or twice...comp's not really fun anymore, feels more like work. I really hate that you can't like, vote to forfeit the match if you can tell your team is just -not- going to pull out a win. Mostly when I'm on a team that's constantly switching heroes, or not paying attention to hero balance...or both (i just switched to tank to balance our team out like five seconds ago, when did we become three tanks and three dps wtf happened). I'd get on mic and say something but I don't play video games to talk to people, so.

I wish another event would come round soon. Or they'd come up with new modes. An official "hide and seek" mode would be cool, doubt it'd happen though.

He's not voiced by Terry Crews. All of my interest has waned instantly.
There is a video of Doomfist doing his powers and actions with Terry crews voice snippets in youtube. Just fyi.

Anna hitboxes for healing are enormous, and you got the splash potion for emergencies. So for healing purposes, it shouldn't be that hard for you.
Now sniping, specially if the hitboxes are not aligned correctly, you're out of luck. Worse for those who try to main Widow.

Even worse are the people who leave when its neck and neck or our team has a slight advantage.

Same. Comp stresses me out more often than not and I try to refrain from playing it. It's hell if you're the only healer and everyone just keeps mindlessly trickling in, though I think it goes without saying that the people who refuse to switch (especially if they have shitty excuses) are the absolute worst. We once had a Hanzo on attack. The guy didn't have many hours put into him, and when others asked if he felt like switching, he just said "mmm, nah" in a really dismissive way. Guess what happened.
A forfeit or kick option would be nice. The whole team shouldn't have to suffer a loss because of one stubborn idiot.

Anybody else running into a lot of people recently who have no idea how to build a proper team composition? I keep getting placed with a bunch of tards who play offensive characters while we're on defense and overstacking tanks and supports on attack.

I experience this frequently. I'm not going to pretend I'm some Top 500 player, but I can at least play competently and enough to rank well. So it's frustrating that I get repeatedly grouped with people who can't understand the basic operations of the game, like capturing the objective/staying on it/killing people.

People on the forum say if you're placed with tards that you must also be a tard. While that may hold some water, I think there's a lot of blame to be placed on the MMR.

I may be a shit-tier rookie player. But it isn't hard at all to grasp that if you're defending a point you should be playing a team of majority defense class heroes, and if you're attacking you should go to majority offense.

There was one game where one guy in our team's vc even pointed that shit out but the speds didn't listen to him, and I don't have a mic so I couldn't tell them off either.

I think the worst is when someone is being hard countered and won't switch, you could still win but it'll just make the match unnecessarily hard.

There are too many games I've been in where the enemy team or my own seems to have some stubborn player who won't switch despite being countered. This is all comp talk though, and idgaf what someone plays unless it's obvious that the match is 5v6 :c.

The ranking system is fucked and always has been. It's not my fault the people I get matched with more than half the time have horrible team communication. Also the penalties for losing streaks are ridiculous. I'll consider myself lucky if I ever make it out of gold.
