genuinely had no idea pup was so into the idea of poop. even for diaper freaks, being super into poop is kind of far. So strictly speaking in the absolutely most autistic sense, no, a Sphinx does not need to have a human head. That's just the Sphinx type most people are familiar with, but as far as the ancient Egyptians go that isn't a rule, see: Hieracosphinx, criosphinx, etc. And DND/Pathfinder essentially finished fucking the concept up in the form of its androsphinx just being a lion with wings wholesale.

It bothers me but I guess you could make that stretch.

This is just a guess, so take it with a grain of salt, I'm just someone online who is extremely privy to the inner workings of certain furry circles.

Putting cat heads on Sphinx and essentially just making them cats with tits started getting big in furry circles starting with (I believe) the artist VCR-Wolfe, they also have a thread on the farms that I've been debating necro reviving if only to keep up with archiving their descent back into degeneracy, but that's its own beast, I'm going to try to get to the point but it does require some lore:

The point is VCR-Wolfe is an artist that wants to fuck animals, badly, they want to draw feral and historically have drawn feral porn. They also want to run in circles where doing so is considered a huge taboo for the obvious reason (wanting to fuck animals is rightfully taboo), and when called out on doing it claimed it was old, that they were essentially groomed into it, and that it does not reflect their current beliefs and actions.

Coincidentally however they started getting into Sphinxes, at first their Sphinxes did have moderately human faces, but they now simply draw them with various animal heads or weird fucked up pseudo-human mostly feline heads. This is obviously (or it seems implied to me) that this is just a way they can draw feral and 'get away with it', because those circles are fine with feral if you call it a Sphinx, it doesn't matter what it looks like, if you call it a Sphinx it's generally considered kosher.

VCR-Wolfe is decently popular in furry circles, and now you will see a lot of furries that touch those circles, or touch those circles' circles, or that are looking for a way to get away with drawing Feral.

I've put some links to what these people consider Sphinxes in the spoiler below. I'm not fully archiving them because I don't think it's necessary to do so with vague random examples. I am also not saying anything about the quality of these designs, nor the art, they're just examples.

These are all also actively being called Sphinxes by the designers/owners, I'm not just ass pulling.
I've placed them as links, if they break I apologize and I'll do my best to fix them, but I wanted to give the option of not being immediately assailed by tit cats and tit dragons upon opening the spoiler.

tl;dr it's probably because pup wants to draw feral porn very badly, but doesn't want to lose followers, and calling something a Sphinx is a modern way some furries make feral without calling it feral.
 
i feel like the term harassment implies contacting pup off-site or otherwise trying to directly contact pup. i have no intention of doing that. i literally have pup blocked on every website we both use because that's the furthest thing from what I want. is being a kiwi kind of mean? yeah. but is this forum Stalking and Harassing by talking about someone's public social media posts? no, I don't think so. and id also wager that most of us haven't been here for the whole 8 years pup is trying to paint it as.

hell i think ive seen the whole group discussing pup change like, three, maybe four times through the duration of the thread.

theres a few people who have been around since the beginning (or have changed usernames / lost and+or switched accounts since then) but theres been an obvious revolving door of people observing her, depending on the era
