Agreed. I believe that western men today are facing a historically unprecedented level of pressure to succeed in any given field. Whereas in the past they had to compete with the circle of men in their vicinity, or at maximum the people in their field, today they have to compete with the whole world. And no matter how good you are at something, there's someone else out there that is just as good or slightly not as good out there that's willing to take your position for a smaller reward because they've sacrificed everything in their life for it, whereas you didn't. Therefore you always have to work more, learn more, sacrifice more, until you crash and burn and are promptly forgotten. I don't mean to be a doomer, but it's a system by design, the logical endpoint of Neoliberalism. It wasn't like this for previous generations, they rode the wave whereas we have to fight the tide.

I also agree. I went through a manosphere phase in my late teens (although it wasn't called like that when I went through it), and I was convinced women were just defective men. I also was heavily into competitive shooters and would join games with the intent to win at any cost. The ambient itself reinforced my beliefs, and I couldn't enjoy the game unless I won all the time. What changed my mind was spending more time with women. At a book club at first, then painting classes and so on - basically anything that would expose me to women. It made me realize that there were things women were good at and that there are differences between how men and women perceive the world, and women's viewpoints aren't wrong, they're just different. The two shouldn't compete with each other, but complete each other like husband & wife. And I think that's the biggest cause of the gender war plaguing the west right now. Men & Women aren't spending enough time together, they're being exposed to the worst aspects from fringe cases that aren't representative of real life, promoted by algorithms on social media that thrive off drama and conflict because it gets the most views. Unplugging from them, in my humble opinion, would do more good to both genders than staying online and tearing eachother to shreds over and over again.

Actually I've been following polling done that democrats are paying and using as we speak to show that people want this entire shit dropped because they despise troons. An Axios/Ipsos poll from 2025 I read said 87% of people polled are against trannies in sports. Do you know how hard it is to get 87% of the country to agree on anything right now? I had to stop playing Overwatch with my boyfriend for this reason because it's a constant adrenaline dump. My favourite mode is mystery heroes because I get to try ones I never normally would (with no queue) and there's no pressure if and when I'm shit when I land on Widowmaker.
