Media Gallery Views

This is the single most requested feature in the forum's entire history. I have never been able to justify time investment into completing it without the work going into the forum rewrite. However, thanks to the Monthly Supporters, I've been able to justify the time investment.

VIEW LATEST MEDIA​

Available to all registered users. Just create and verify your account.

This view lets you inspect all new media posted anywhere you can view the posts.



If you see something that is an issue, you can report it with the hover-over bubble. If it's an emergency, indicate so on the form.



Videos and images appear on this view. Audio and misc attachments do not.

VIEW THREAD MEDIA​

Available to all subscribers and one-time donors for now.



This view looks like this.



You may notice that some images have borders. Attachments which belong to an auto-highlighted, manually postmarked, or globally featured post get a color-coded border the same as their parent post.

SPOILERS​

All image and video attachments now have a SPOILER checkmark.


This spoiler blurs it until unblurred, including on the media galleries. Marking NSFW and spoilers as such will become a site rule.


(Once you click the spoiler button it saves automatically, you do not need to save the post.)

EXISTING SPOILERED CONTENT, INSIDE SPOILER AND ISPOILER TAGS, ARE BEING CONVERTED TO SPOILERED IMAGES AUTOMATICALLY.
NO MANUAL EDITING OF OLD POSTS NEEDED.

I definitely see the usefulness of this QoL feature for threads that rely on media for engagement (e.g. The Indian Menace thread, the Photos that make you laugh; Historical Images threads.) Very cool.

I personally do not see myself using this feature (I prefer reading the posts as-is), but a site update is a site update. Thank you, Dear Sneeder, for keeping this website up and running for as long as you have.

Are new posts with spoilered content supposed to automatically mark contents as NSFW, or not? I was regrettably just flashbanged by an image which was spoilered in-thread but not NSFW in the media view.
