Coke Zero Sugar is replacing Coke Zero.



If you like your Coke Zero exactly the way it is now, it might be time to start stockpiling it.

On Wednesday, Coca-Cola announced plans to stop selling Coke Zero in the US in August, replacing it with a beverage with a different recipe, design, and name: Coke Zero Sugar.

"It is a reinvention of Coke Zero," CEO James Quincey said in a call with investors.

According to Coca-Cola, Coke Zero Sugar is closer to the taste of the standard Coca-Cola. But with zero sugar and zero calories, the drink is designed for customers who are seeking lower-sugar options.

Coke Zero Sugar is already a major hit outside the US, with growth figures reaching the teens. In the US, Coke Zero sales grew 3.5% in 2016, compared with Diet Coke's drop of 1.9% in the same time period.

That's what they said about Coca-Cola C2, the original Zer0, and Life. Pepsi is even worse with Pepsi One, Edge, Max/Zero Sugar, and Next, in addition to ruining the formula of Diet Pepsi. No thanks, but I'm staying with Diet Coke.

Also, Coke C2 had a great commercial, better than the PC multicultural crap their advertisers now shit out...

Fun fact: Coke Zero is just regular coke with an artificial sweetner. Diet Coke is in fact an entirely different flavored no calorie soda which is why is tastes nothing like Coke.

Personally I prefer it to Coke Zero since it's not as sweet tasting.

This has been the case in the UK for a while now. It's a slightly closer recipe than before, and still better than diet coke. Will still give you diarrhoea though.

Yeah per D.Va this happened in Britain, multiple times there was actual mini stalls? happening where they were handing out freezing cold 150ml cans for free, which people were obviously queuing for.

It does taste a lot better than the old version, at least to my mouth.
