Someone drew them as women(as in Dream MILF) and they got mad because "not fat enough" and "gay erasure" and etc etc(can't link the direct pic of the genderbent pic since the artist has protected her tweets for now to avoid the harassment.
Meanwhile, this is seen as perfectly acceptable

Why didn't they assplode at him to begin with? Like I understand why would a SJW would get triggered by the artist but I don't understand how the gamedev didn't got shit until he called out the harassment. Even in their hypocrisy there's no sense to this.

One of the characters is apparently FTM transgender(the vampire looking one), something that you don't find out until the very end of that character's date route. The artist wasn't aware of that when she drew the MILF version, and when it was pointed out to her(before the assploding), she responded with basically "oh, sorry. Didn't realize that" and said to just think of the MILF version as MTF transgender.
Also, Twitter and tumblr fetishize gay men hardcore, so they have no problem with the men being hot.

The problem with modern current politics is.. most of those voting to change.. really have no worries regarding if these changes will affect them. Most will be dead in 20 years and they will be filled with enough money to change countries of shit hits the fan.

The main spark that started the spergory inferno was the fact that one of the dateable dads in the games is a transman (the goth one that looks a bit like Severus Snape) and with tumblr's warped logic they took it as the artist erasing that character's trans status, so they immediately began chimping out completely ignoring the fact that his female counterpart is supposed to be a trans woman. Refusing to use logic to think about something before they jump the gun and start attacking people, you know, like they always do.
