Elevator & Escalator Club - "I LOVE THE ELEVATOR AND THE BUTTONS AND THE SOUNDS TOO"

Elevators and Roblox are apparently super serious business:

This thread is spectacular. These people actually make biblical doomsday criers look grounded. Actual train enthusiasts have better merit to their interests than these people.

Fun fact, there is a train AND elevator enthusiast who posts videos on youtube. You know its him because he holds a tiny train figure out in all of his videos so you know it's his calling card. This video in particular makes me laugh because the moment he gets into the elevator, he loudly announces he's an enthusiast to the operator who seems a little confused.

In some of his newer videos he yells at the elevators.

No community or fandom on the internet is complete without its fringe element who push things to the extreme and make everyone get mad. In the elevator world this is called "lift surfing" or some shit, where you basically gain access above an elevator and ride it up and down and jump between elevators or something.

The most popular of these is some guy called "BENO" on YouTube. This is what a typical 'surfing' video is like:

"surfing" is a contentious topic within the Elevator Fandom as it generally means showing how to access areas that may be dangerous. This means the people who just do traditional "elevator videos" get emotional:

As it turns out "lift surfing" is frowned upon by the professional elevator community.

This effort to stop "Irresponsible Videos" ended up spawning an online petition:
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/489/668/642/save-beno/

It has also meant a bunch of videos directed towards "Ish Buckingham" such as these:

As well as accusations that "Ish" and the professional elevator community have resorted to DDoS attacks (?):
"ISH BUCKINGHAM HAS DDOSSed THE LAST SITE. It got 5GB of downloads in just 2 days.

I will keep uploading it to different places no matter what. He will never silence us."

And also videos from the vanilla "Elevator Filming" community against Beno:

"THIS IS FOR YOU BEN, YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT, HOW MUCH YOU SPREAD ONLINE WITH YOUR OBSESSIVE LIFT SURFS AND THINK THAT YOU'RE BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE. YOU HAD A BAD CHILDHOOD YOU HATED SCHOOL, YOU GOT EXPELLED AND YOU ARE FUCKING LIKE MINDED AS A 12 YEAR OLD GET YOURSELF CHECKED MATE FOR AUTISM. I DON'T WANT TO EVER TO SEE YOU AGAIN GET OFF YOUTUBE AND DO SOMETHING BETTER AS A 23-YEAR OLD THAN UPLOADING SHITTY LIFT SHIT. YOU WILL NEVER GET A GIRLFRIEND IN LIFE, YOU ARE TOO UGLY AS SO AND DUMB AS EVER. ISH BUCKINGHAM HAS RIGHT TO REPORT YOU HE EXPERIENCED FROM YOUR VIDEOS MEETING CHILDREN FROM ONLINE MESSING WITH PROPERTIES, TRANSPORT AND LIFTS. I WILL COME NEAR YOU AND YOU WILL BE SHOT DOWN!"

And then to further spice things up there is some series floating around a few channels called "Lift is Hungry" which involves throwing heavy items down elevator shafts for some reason.

A fridge and then a photocopier

A ladder

A giant transformer

A microwave and some garbage

Using an elevator to crush panels

And also, don't forget that Connor's mom is a dog:

I guess the question now becomes, is there any online community that even approaches the drama levels of the Elevator Fandom?

With all the weird elevator spergery going on, I'm surprised paternosters haven't been latched onto as the ultimate spergbait.

EDIT: Seriously, these do kinda kickass if you know what you're doing!

Man, I absolutely adored escalators and elevators. When I was, like, five.

I mean, they are interesting, and some of the more odd ones can be fun to ride, but it's not something to build a community around.

:autism: It's pressure-oriented sensory input combined with an neurological inability to get tired of a thing. It's why so many of them got stuck on "mechanical keyboards" a while back, too. All that satisfying clackity clack and pressure against the hands. :autism:

I mean yeah there's a few weird elevators in my city that are sort of interesting I guess. But not enough to make endless Youtube videos about.
