Finding out Jess is in her mid-30's was pretty damn shocking to me. I seriously thought she was, I dunno...mid-20's, encroaching on 30? What little sympathy I had for her is starting to run dry.

Unless your hard drive is literally fried and they're doing a salvage operation to retrieve anything that is absolutely ridiculous.

You're assuming that the money is actually going to be spent on hiring a tech instead of just buying a new graphics card/wacom tablet after scamming a bunch of suckers

She is very tech illiterate.
I'm surprised she's able to raise $1,400 for it this quickly and not one person in her circle has told her she's getting screwed but...
I can't even imagine the assets she wants recovered are worth $1,400.
Any programs should have a product key, the comics should be online, custom brushes can be downloaded again, and she doesn't seem to reuse a lot of art assets, so aside from unpublished works there isn't a lot to lose.
And that's ignoring that unless the HDD is just dead, transferring those files off is easy.
Regardless, $1,400 for file recovery is ridiculous.

No one in their late 30's should be this obsessed with being LGBT (or better yet, forcing it on people!) in any sense, especially if not everyone has a huge problem with it, anymore (well, unless you're a troon in the military, of course.)
