Furry Fandom and Drama General

A lot of furry socialising/drama takes place on twitter. The possibility of getting attention and followers, and the recent political climate has resulted in it becoming popular to launch twitter witchhunts against furries with Problematic Views and Harmful Opinions.

An especially vicious aspect is the witchhunters wanting to drive out and financially hurt people who make furry art and/or fursuits their full time job (and so providing lots of free content!) who have Problematic Views and Harmful Opinions.

An example of a furry witchhunt has been going on over the past few days against Mithacal creatures. Mithacal creatures is, whatever else, a skilled fursuit maker:

And she is a local celebrity in her Alaskan town. However she has right wing political views and believes that there are only two genders. This attracted a transgender (FtM) witchunter called kyotokoyote.

Kyotokoyote got a collection of screenshots of Mithical Creatures expressing Problematic Views and Harmful Opinions and confronted Mithical Creatures over IM about them. Mithical Creatures told kyotokoyote to fuck off because she was allowed to have her own opinions.

Kyotokoyote then posted screenshots of the IM conversation on her twitter and got a witchhunt, with hundreds of furries involved, going:

Various furries involved said they wanted to drive Mithacal creatures out of the furry fandom and ruin her fursuit business through boycotts and shunning because of her Harmful Opinions. People were virtue signalling about unfollowing her on twitter.

Allegedly people who have bought fursuits from her were contacted by people telling them about the Harmful Opinions of the maker and how it would be a bad idea to wear the suit because children and impressionable teenagers might think the fursuit was cool and then become influenced by the Harmful Opinions of the maker.

The way you keep capitalizing harmful opinions made me think it's the youtuber lol.

I saw this drama unfold before my very eyes, and let me tell you a little secret: the screeching social justice types are typically not the ones able to spend $2000 on a fursuit. You know what kinds are? Full time employed older furries who could give less of a shit about the drama of the week.

This will blow over in a few more days like a fart in the wind until someone else catches lefty furry ire.

thats kinda fucked up

It's the Tumblr Generation. All young people grow up and mature, but unfortunately, it will take a lot longer for them. unlike previous generations, they have the internet, and by shoving their faces in their phones all day, they've been able to wall themselves off into safe spaces and echo chambers where no one disagrees with their stupid, naive SJW bullshit. All they ever get is positive reinforcement that they're right and special. But one day, whether they like it or not, they will grow up, and they'll no longer be able do their stupid Peter Pan routine. When that happens, it is my fervent hope they will look back on their personal pronouns and generfluid spectrum idiocy and autism-is-a-superpower bullshit, and be properly embarrassed, the same way people look back on mullets and acid washed jeans, or soul patches and tribal tattoos, or whatever, and go, "Man, WTF was I thinking?"

How the fuck does one attain a fetish for fucking life jackets?
How the fuck does one find it a good idea to make a nine-minute video explaining their fetishes?
Did he have to rope Buckethead into degeneracy? That's just sacrilegious! Leave the great Buckethead out of your fetishes! Is that too much to ask? But then again, the point IS true. Searching any fetish online is like looking at Hieronymus Bosch's depictions of Hell.

As for why any of that happened? Autism. Duh.

Every cub must become a wolf eventually.

For you folks who want to make a furry sona like the cool kids.

AKA how to pretty much copypaste an animal and throw rainbows on it.
I decided not to watch much of the video, but I must say that I love the juxtaposition of a character that's supposed to be a femboy, but the dude has the voice of a working class mill worker that won't stop saying "cunt." It just cracks me up.

To be fair, her politics should stay separate from her business. Like any other business should be. It's on her for losing customers because she decided to get political.

Don't shit where you eat.

Edit: Legit curious about how this is being rated PL. When did I mention myself at all?

Life Jacket Man probably has some weird collect 'em all psychology going on with the different species and origin places

Now that there's finally a furry board, is Kothorix now thread-worthy? I mean, he was already an edgy euphoric atheist (and a self-proclaimed "former" otherkin) who thinks medicine and abortion are evil while pedophiles are virtuous, but for some reason I never felt that a thread on him would take on the main board.

Also, life jacket man is streaming in hopes of funding a new life jacket purchase. And of fucking course, he's playing Night in the Woods.

I say go for it. Every time he popped up in this thread he'd get talked about for a while and he seems to put out content on a regular basis.

Furry's want to make money off of anything thing and everything, especially when it comes to fursuits.

I can only imagine what that hidden comment could be.
I've heard of and seen zoos having paintings done by various animals they have for sale, but I never thought we'd get bootleg versions that remove the novelty aspect of it done by some schmuck on the internet. Their entrepreneurial spirit is truly something to envy. That is, if you want money but can't be bothered to do something worthwhile to earn it.
