This deserves to be on tv tropes. It's just too magnificent, too beautiful to be ignored.View attachment 249888
*heavy sigh* Right then...
"The fighting seems average."
Average: -Constituting the result obtained by adding together several quantities and then dividing this total by the number of quantities.
-of the usual or ordinary standard, level, or quantity.
-mediocre; not very good
For Anon's first statement to have "meant nothing" would mean that calling a game's mechanics "average" would be an inadequate way to describe it. So let's explore this; How can a game's fighting mechanics be "average"? Well Kingdom Hearts is a beat-em up, a genre notorious for it's repetitive button-mashing and short combo strings against hordes of weak opponents. This is true of Kingdom Hearts to an extent, as the combat in most scenarios is relatively standard. Characters dash around, lock on, slash enemies a bunch, the whole nine yards. This is the core of the gameplay, and what the series does to shake this up is add spells and variations of spells that shake up how it's played. Bosses require more dexterity and maneuverability to overcome and they cycle through patters of being able to take damage and vice-versa.
Objectively, to a typical gamer, you have two ways a first impression of Kingdom Heart's combat can be taken. For one, the game could look overly simplified, overly flashy, and repetitive given that it's combo and weapons mechanics are rather plain in comparison to games such as Devil May Cry and Bayonetta as examples. (Hell, even the Batman Arkham games to a degree.) For another perspective, it could flash and cool, and the simplified combat could be a plus since it's not something they have to be too invested in.
Either way, the mechanics of Kingdom Hearts is deliberately less extensive than Devil May Cry or Dark Souls or many other types of it's kind. These games remove the RPG elements of Kingdom Hearts and focus on execution and exploitation. You have to understand the mechanics, engine, and frame data of these games to get the best results, meaning that the skill ceiling is inheritably higher.
Because the fighting mechanics are too complex and function properly in Kingdom Hearts, they don't fail. However, in comparison to it's competition, it's not as deep or engaging due to compensating for the implementation of a unique gameplay style/fusion. Therefore, if it neither fails nor exceptionally succeeds, they are "average."
"The story looks like a mess."
Generally speaking, Kingdom Heart's is infamous for having an underwhelming, convoluted, and edgy lore. This is not something the game or fans attempt to hide, it's in plain sight. Mickey Mouse is standing in the middle of the screen talking about "the forces of darkness" and wielding a sword in a black coat and is uber-powerful etc, etc.
As for the convoluted nature of the story telling, what does "convoluted" mean?
Convoluted: -(especially of an argument, story, or sentence) extremely complex and difficult to follow.
-intricately folded, twisted, or coiled
A story being difficult to follow can imply one of two things; Either context is heavily required in order to understand the events that transpire within the story or the events and narrative of the story is inconsistently changing or reverting the rules of the story causing the actions that take place to have less inherit value. These are both generally bad things. Firstly, heavily relying on context can be damning if you do not provide the necessary means to practically consume previous information. Second, if a story cannot follow it's own rules and constantly has to pull out changes to suit the needs of the story despite the means breaking the narrative, then there is no investment to the viewer/reader.
Kingdom Hearts is especially a prominent case in difficult to follow story-telling since it's not only got it's own vastly separated lore, but the entire franchise is based around the cross-over of two brand names with completely different histories and tones. To expect someone looking in to understand all the "nuances" *chuckle* of the story is madness, and no one seriously expects people to take Kingdom Heart's story seriously because of it.
So, Jerry, let's look at the statement again.
"The gameplay is average and the story looks like a mess."
Anon sounds like he's trying to say that the gameplay doesn't look especially engaging and that his perception of the story is one of confusion.
And your response to this is to state that his explanation "lacks meaning." I have just proven to you that it does, and the only way you can deny the above information is to admit to your biases and previous experiences with the subject in question, which wouldn't prove me wrong, it would just make you hard-headed and unable to fathom why someone would have a hard time working up the desire to play a franchise that you religiously jerk off too.
And you chose to do this instead of, y'know, just explaining why you think he should play the game.
Yes, I'm aware that this is stupidly long as it is, and mildly comes off as spergy, but I had to drive home a point here that really needs to be hammered in.
Jerry, you are a complete failure as any sort of "writer." When you either do not understand basic literary concepts such as "Context Clues" or "Hidden Meanings" or you deliberately choose to ignore such concepts in order to pretentiously shut down people who disagree with you, then you completely spit in the face of what it means to be a good writer.
Nothing about Anon's statement was wrong; it was his initial perception of something and you chose to invalidate this perception not by arguing it, but to deny the logic behind it as if there were none when that isn't the case at all.
Your technical inability and incompetency's may not be your most damning flaw in your writing, but they do show your complete lack of talent and ability to learn. You are so pretentious, self-righteous, and egotistical that you cannot comprehend how to express your thoughts without first attacking the strawmen of the things that you don't like.
I've said before that Jerry is an idiot and shit like this continues to prove my point. Jerry waxes and wanes about how smart he thinks he is, but there is no actual intelligence to what he's saying. I'm choosing to elaborate on this specific post to show people who might not get why people are tired of this smug cunt's opinions on shit like writing and story-telling. He's full of shit and everything he antagonizes or denies the value of is only to serve his selfish, ignorant view of his perception of the world.
Rebeccas Sugar can't simply be making a show about how violence begets violence: That doesn't make sense to Jerry, the idiot he is. So instead, Rebecca Sugar is an idiot Nazi sympathizer because Jerry made up an allegory that wasn't intended to be there. All to project his insane little opinions on.
This is probably going to be the last time I analyze Jerry's behavior like this because the rest of his flaws have already been explored in the thread. I apologize for this being as long as it is for such a minor post, but I feel it needs to be demonstrated how dishonest and stupid Jerry is. Someone new just stumbled onto this forum. They bothered to sign up so we know they're there, but others could be lurking. And because I know they are, I want them to, at the very least, leave the thread with the idea that Jerry isn't all as smart as he pretends to be.
He's a faggot, a fake-tranny, a pedophile, an abuser, a sexual deviant, a liar, an edge lord, and sociopathic violence-glorifying loon.
But above all of this, Jerry Peet is an idiot.
