Netflix's DEGRASSI - Like the old degrassi, but with Tumblr and no melodrama

I'm sure we've all been there!

The original series certainly didn't pussyfoot around very serious issues in the original "Degrassi Junior High" and "Degrassi High" shows.
I didn't know a Babar special premiered on that channel the day I was born.

Back on topic, any cringy clips from the new Degrassi?

More than that, a TV series that came out at that time by Nelvana. HBO picked it up down here.

One of the sets in the house has Netflix, but I have little to no interest to have my eyeballs bleached by what I'd have to see that wouldn't appeal to me anyway.

Caitlyn was a SJW.

It just shows how much things have changed. Instead of trying to have sex, current year teenagers get triggered.
Weird really, teens today are complete pussies.

didn't watch neither the original nor am I interested in this one, but I have a question about netflix reboots in general. they obviously got the rights to the original show, otherwise they wouldn't be able to make the reboot, so why do they waste money on making a reboot instead of just airing the original? I'm sure those old shows would be very popular due to nostalgia

Tried watching the first three episodes couldn't get through another. Maybe I'm just old.

Ot: but does anyone remember the n? I tried rewatching south of nowhere and God is that show hilariously terrible.

I dropped the original Degrassi because I couldn't stand Spinner. I had no idea that this was a thing.

Took one look, and-

Hasn't Degrassi always been that way?

Not having an interest in this show, the thumbnail looks like a pretty decked out quiz bowl session.

Did they dedicate an entire episode to "exposing misogyny in gaming culture" before this?

Genuine question, since I stopped watching after the school shooting episode.

I lived and breathed The Next Generation when I was in junior high and high school.

Show started going downhill after Jimmy was shot, and the college arc with Paige and everyone else was the drizzling shits.

I kind of kept up with it for a while after most of the original cast left, but tapped out for good about a season into the Alli era. Holly J and Fiona kept the show watchable, but it couldn't hold a candle to the early seasons.

I rewatched the first six seasons of TNG a couple years ago, and it was still enjoyable even though I'm in my late 20s, but it was probably the nostalgia glasses talking.

It's kind of funny how none of them other than Aubrey amounted to much of anything. Emma is selling real estate, Spinner is a drummer in some shit band, Manny is a coke whore out in LA, and Paige does nothing but sling SJW garbage on Twitter all day. I wonder if they harbor any bitterness over Drake's success.

I'm surprised the BBC hasn't yet thought of doing the same to reboot Grange Hill, so that British schoolgirls can be taught important lessons in sexist social media trolling, fat-shaming and the dangers of Netflix and chill.

Then again, 'Just say no to boys sending you dick pics on Snapchat' really doesn't have quite the same impact to it.

Regarding Netflix and tumblr shit. I just started watching "The Mist". The old movies were ok and I like Stephen King. Its awful tumblered now and I dont know if I keep watching it. Will look at degrassi soon.

I'd like to know why it seems Netflix is obsessed with pandering to SJWs over anything else.
I don't know much about Netflix, but don't they regularly piss off all the SJW too (granted, everything pisses them off). Like some Adam Sandler movie 2-3 years ago that had them REEEing about the portrayal of native Americans and just a few months ago some movie about anorexia that was too triggering.

Well glad if they don't try to cater them all the time.

Oh my god, Degrassi. Haven't seen any of the series from the 80s, but I have watched a bit of TNG, and it was alright. How did Degrassi turn into such an SJW shitfest within, what, 13 years? I don't plan on watching this, though, because I don't think I could handle it even ironically. (Also, apparently there's a "nonbinary" character in this new series.)
