Imitating the unholy love-child of Voerhoeven's take on the book, A dash of Trek with the logos, but more importantly the received pronunciation Imperials from Star Wars just makes me want to die inside personally.

It's admitting your brain is so raped by pop-culture you are incapable of other ideas. But most importantly, the main inspiration was from the eternal space-anglos of Coruscant.

Eh, it's uninspired. Literally just a Star Wars imperial officer uniform but with the Star Trek badge. I know that's the actual Space Force insignia.
weren't trek insignias based on the nasa arrowhead in the first place or do i have that backwards

also it's p cool they told us what paints to stock up on for our Space Force: The Board Game minis

Art imitates life imitates art.

That pop culture was inspired by something else, almost always real stuff.

The Space Force's uniform should reflect the domain they operate within which is outer space. No one complains when a Navy uses blue(water) or white(ship sails) uniforms, an army uses green(for vegetation or brown if they're in a desert country), or an airforce uses blue(like the sky). A space-based military organization should use black and gray because outer space is black. It would be retarded to use most other colors.

Also, when people make uniforms for characters in movies and shows(that aren't comedies), they tend to put thought behind it. So taking inspiration from those designs isn't always a bad idea. I'm sure most military uniforms are based off of some cultural trend or symbolism from the distant past anyway. Fascist organizations on earth wear black to represent authority but that color has a different meaning for a space-faring military branch. If Trump was trying to make the National Guard or US Army's uniform pitch black, then there would be reasonable questions.

Meh. The uniforms are pretty much what they are because the branch has no history. Pretty much all the space force shit is handled by contractors anyway. It's kind of a pointless branch.
Black is the ideal color of any space-based military branch due to space being black and their operations being intended to be unseen. Also, the branch hasn't been able to build up yet because we're just now able to launch rockets for pennies on the dollar due to reuse.

Is he joining the Wehrmacht with those jackboots?
Black is the appropriate color for space due to the domain being, well, black. Other space-based colors could make sense like gold(because of all the mylar) or white(due to space stations) but space travel is such a recent thing that a color based on a technology doesn't make sense outside of navies which often use white likely because of white sails on old ships.

Black uniforms with black jackboots are only an issue when the military branch that uses them are a ground-based occupying type.

This makes as much sense as when the USN went on that retarded kick and came out with water camo uniforms for sailors to wear.

The space force folks are basically security guards. That is literally all they do. They aren't involved in any way shape or for with in design, operations, scheduling, etc.

Keep in mind, these folks are just like anyone in the military. They passed a physical and an ASVAB. We aren't talking MENSA members here.

Fuck, the FCC plays a bigger role than Space Force.
