I've been here so long I don't even need to see a single tweet to know that people are getting irrationally angry over this.
 
To be fair, I like it too. Military Uniforms are supposed to give off an aura of danger and ruthless competency. Its why the Nazi's insisted their officers dress that way. The backlash to it is silly. German Sheapards are great doggos. Just because Hitler liked them doesn't mean other people are required to dislike them now. This reflexive backlash to nice uniforms is why military uniforms have sucked ass for almost a century now. Especially service dress uniforms which are supposed to be worn in barracks situations and normal non-training/non-combat positions. The move to wear battle dress all the damn time is a terrible shame.

Eh, it's uninspired. Literally just a Star Wars imperial officer uniform but with the Star Trek badge. I know that's the actual Space Force insignia. Could have done something cool like incorporating space suit elements and colors, or chosen like any other color besides black.

Nice uniforms. And for anyone bitching, its a branch of the military and not some civilian group so the uniforms should be intimidating. Its also for a group that operates things in space and may eventually operate in space so black is a very appropriate color. I find it kind of funny how part of the reason for this design is basically just to troll anti-American people.

Politics is often about compromise so whenever you propose a change, you're always supposed to go further than you'd accept so that the compromise is something you'd be happy with. I imagine they'll end up settling on very dark blue and slightly lower-cuff boots.
