Trolling plans
Yeah, the money that Vidar doesn't give to Phil directly is spent on viewbots for his streams. I'm 99% sure Vidar flat out admitted that on Twitter or on here.

I'd be willing to bet that Phil has, at best, 200 actual people who watch his streams on average. And probably half of those are people who watch for the drama or to troll him.
I'd say he has follower bots rather than view bots. I mean come on, 40k followers! Really!?

Because, believe it or not, unlike Phil most of us have actual jobs and lives.
$3 for an empty game case on ebay

I'll even request a signature confirmation so hopefully his ass won't be to lazy to lift a pen let alone reach the door.
Hey @ygrabs1998 don't flood the board with a bunch of posts.

Does Street Fighter on Nintendo Switch use servers or is it a pure P2P connection?

I assume because of the terrible lag and connection problems it uses P2P, if that's the case and someone has a Switch and SF2 they could use Wireshark...

EDIT: so wait, Phil is so constantly paranoid about his IP address being seen anywhere but plays a game that uses P2P multiplayer? He said he wouldn't even consider Discord if it would reveal his IP address at all.

Valedictorian Rocket Scientist material right there.

Probably P2P knowing Capcom. But in a lot of the matches Phil is playing -when you watch the compliation videos- he's usually playing people who are at 1-2 bars which is horrible. Why he's accepting matches with people who have bad connections is anyone's guess.

He's also been using wireless instead of Ethernet and blames everyone else for lag, regardless of their region. Also the dumbass needs to be educated that in fighting games if one person lags usually the other can feel the same lag as well. But he's so thickheaded that he needs to cover his ass in every attempt to shield his brittle ego.

He actually uses a USB>ethernet bridge or similar. It's anyone's guess if he actually uses a decent one though. My bet is everything he has is set up terribly.

I'm still not sure geographically where his office is in his house (i.e. is it upstairs?); based upon this it would be useful to know how he gets internet "up there". Does he use a power/ethernet bridge or a WiFi bridge or did he actually get ethernet cable piped in? Or do houses in the US usually have their own networking built in (if its modern that is)?

Ok then. So based upon what I can find online it is P2P.
That means Phil is basically revealing his IP address to anyone he plays SF2 with online.
I'm curious to know if the IP address leaks even when you do a search for matches too.

I'm surprised he isn't aware because the console/P2P/wireshark was a big thing back in the early console days when pimply 13 year olds got angry online and would take it out using botnets.

I can't wait for the inevitable "DSP Tries It: How to use a fucking VPN"

The dude typically has like hundreds of the 400 people watching not in the chat. Is that typical for Twitch? If not he might just be getting viewbots. Don't know how to explain why second streams don't have them though.

EDIT: Well actually I can theorize that whoever's running the bots isn't around during the second stream. So someone like Vidar or whatever.

ETA: This thread is considered the worst thread on this site. It isn't the cow itself, it is antics like the above, people hacking DSP, some bizarre skirmish unfolding on KF related to DSP, etc. This isn't normal shit for a lolcow thread. If you are involved any of that mess please unfuck yourself. If you aren't, please make diligent use of the report button. DSP is a great cow, knock off the nonsense.

Also, it's really dangerous to publicly announce this kind of trolling. Let me explain:

You tell everybody that you're going to send Phil an empty game case, for shits and giggles. Then someone else, who's a complete mental case, decides to send him something dangerous inside an empty case. Now, when the police gets involved, guess what will happen? They'll see your public post talking about sending Phil an empty game case. Now you're fucked, even if you're completely innocent.

Maybe I could pitch this for a CSI: Kahndo or Law & Order: Gout Victims Unit spinnof. But the point remains: do not publicly announce your trolling plans, it will ruin everything.

More likely they'd sit for 6 weeks reading through all 1520 pages of this thread and claim huge amounts of overtime and then do stuff to fuck with Phil themselves.

(yeah, I get your post is serious but I couldn't resist)

Phil really isn't worth trolling. No trolling attempt will ever be as effective as his own self created misery. Besides, actually trolling him just gives him more ways to milk his paypigs, since he can actually point to stuff as evidence of detractors. Just let him crash and burn on his own. There are few things Phil is genuinely good at, but ruining his life is thankfully one of them.

That's actually a crazy low number for someone in his position. His follower-to-view ratio is garbage, which is a great indicator that people are coming to his stream and not committing to stick around because he's a spectacle and not somebody worth investing in. Also water is wet.

Phil has over 5 million stream views. From what I've seen on Twitch, 40k followers is more common for people who have ~400-500k stream views. Ballpark figure, someone decent in Phil's position should have like 100k followers.

Edit: Also keep in mind that a fair few of his followers would be detractors, so 40k is as generous as it is sad.

You wished earlier in this thread that the dude who fucked with DSP and his internet had done more serious damage to him. I dont think you necessarily have any room to tell others how to conduct themselves in this dumpster fire of a thread.

I'm not opposed to people fucking with him, I'm opposed to people publicly announcing they'll fuck with him, instead of doing the fuckery and then coming with documented results for the lulz. First, it makes sycophantic army of bootlickers aware of what you're doing/what you're going to do, so he'll be aware of what you're planning. Second, it makes people who could potentially do him serious harm to do it while pinning the blame on you.

If Jackie Chin had announced that he was going to copyright strike DSP back in 2015, then Phil could have edited the videos beforehand and avoided all the delicious drama that followed. If the hacker from last time had properly fucked with him before coming out in public, we could had so much salt coming out of Phil, we would have been laughing at him for days. Hell, had people let Phil get properly signed to Laveria Media instead of doing all the digging so quickly, he wouldn't be able to dodge the bullet the way he did.

I'm into this for the laughs. I want people who can make Phil squirm to do it the most effective way, since I can't, myself, do it right now, for a couple of reasons (oh, if only...).

Didn't break 176 views second stream today. The streamer, timeslot, and game are all to blame. Made 44 bucks in tips and however much in bits and subs though. I wonder if he's getting enough money to keep going with the playthrough long-term.
Gotta ask, do you manually collect this data? Does that mean you watch nearly all of Phil's awful stream?
