I'd really like to know the whole story of his time at the helicopter job and his "lay-off." I cannot imagine that he wasn't a problem employee since in his mind his coworkers and supervisors would be idiots and management would be clueless and lacking street smarts. He would think himself blameless for any deficiencies in his work because of detractors within the company and poorly designed procedures...and his bugged computer, of course.

I'm also not abject to a personal slap in the face to Phil either. I mean he behaves like a clown on stream, I still dont know why he doesnt embrace the clown thing. Wear goofy hats, do bad singing, weird awkward dancing. Wouldnt be the first time that someone did these things for cash on twitch or youtube. Markiplier, one of the ultimate clowns dyed his hair for raising money for charity. Other streamers have shaved their faces for charity or for fast cash.

But you're right, the guy who filmed himself rubbing his balls in the shower... probably not much pride in that man.

I know. Its cause of his huge ego. Sometimes his ego gets in the way of doing something that would make him more successful, and he choose the first one. Its very odd and fascinating. He should go all in, go full clown and he would get more money.
 
Today's pre-stream - I swear he burped between every vocal sentence at some points. Every time he took a breath some of the gas from his V8 Energy escaped up his fat throat.

Another excuse for not wanting to play SuperTurbo using Fightcade --"My PC isn't good enough to run games and stream at the same time." Phil, even you know that's ridiculous. Even an old CPU will barely break 1% running mame emulation.

Phil's day: he can't do any outdoor chores - like gardening - in his free time because his free time is late at night. Hey Phil, it's your choice to watch Netflix til 5am and sleep til noon. Adjust your hours! Waking up at noon is bad for you - you miss morning daylight. Why does he do it? Perhaps he assumes a 'workday' is supposed to happen soon after getting up, and relaxation hours are supposed to happen after the workday. He wouldn't want to 'go to work' if he's already been up half the day.

The other day he said: "I won't be doing an evening stream today, because one day a week I have to do some essential chores like grocery shopping." Yeah, because most employers let you take an afternoon off work to do your grocery shopping, right? When else would you have the time?

Lurked for a few months and decided to pull the trigger on actually posting. I may as well, considering I peek on TIHYDPs often enough.

Personally, I don't think Phil can pull the clown or comedic angle- even when he bothers to keep track of trends, he always plays the contrarian or just runs a decent joke into the ground. And unless he bandwagons on viral trends, it still takes a bit of effort to be funny. It just seems like it would be like the Homefront video again, lots of people might come see, but he won't give them a reason to stay.

DSP also has stated numerous times that he doesn't want to do "negative videos."
The King of Hate's lone attraction is his penchant for salt and rage, and he knows this otherwise he wouldn't publicize upcoming difficult playthroughs with the promise that he will struggle and fly off the handle, and he also wouldn't now be doing "Salty Sunday" USF2 streams.
I still haven't decided if he is a gigantic hypocrite or hopelessly ignorant.

I still don't get why Phil doesn't just drip feed the videos at this point- he might actually be able to make his Youtube account his retirement fund, considering more of his views are from videos more than a year old. Nowadays just posting one vid a day, or even a week is pretty active if you're doing it full-time. If he can somehow get 10 videos from a day of streaming, he could just reupload it to Youtube at a pace of 2-4 a day. He has a backlog in case he doesn't want to stream, it gives people a reason to watch his stream more, and the sub feed won't collapse on itself.

Something something business degree.

Phil is a funny in the way Birdemic, Plan 9 From Outer Space, Troll 2 or The Room are funny. What truly baffles me is that while no one wants to watch "so bad it's good" movies every time they watch Netflix, Phil's fans come back day after day for the let's play equivalent of something from the IMDB's bottom 100.
