I still don't get why Phil doesn't just drip feed the videos at this point- he might actually be able to make his Youtube account his retirement fund, considering more of his views are from videos more than a year old. Nowadays just posting one vid a day, or even a week is pretty active if you're doing it full-time. If he can somehow get 10 videos from a day of streaming, he could just reupload it to Youtube at a pace of 2-4 a day. He has a backlog in case he doesn't want to stream, it gives people a reason to watch his stream more, and the sub feed won't collapse on itself.

Something something business degree.
Because drip-feeding implies not having regular day 1 footage.

I'm hoping Manhunt wins (either by rigging or DSP not giving a shit) it could be a fucking salt mine of epic proportions.

You can tell Phil wants to play Night in the Woods badly, to the point where he will either rig the poll or play it anyway despite another game winning (such as when GTA San Andreas won but Phil played the second place game)

You can tell Phil wants to play Night in the Woods badly...
I might be missing something, I just can't see why. With how current Phil keeps whining about 'dem SJWs' he's going to offer little commentary, doubly so when it's a story based game. Just like the anti- Nintendo bias, he's forged his auidennce to hate certain games, and wonders why everyone gets bored or leaves.

The stream chat when he plays that game might make even furry lolcows cringe, nevermind Phil usual antics. Who wins in that situation?

He wouldn't rig the poll. He'd just shit on the games that seem like they'll beat it.

Just like he didn't ask for a donated PS4 Pro, he just said he couldn't afford it but that donations are "willing and accepted." Just like he didn't ask streamchat for help, he just said he didn't know where to go then DEEPLY stared into the chat while running into a wall in game.

Night in the Woods is just a Walking Simulator, platforming style.

It's easy, and as far as I am aware, there is no way you can fuck up, nor are there any real consequences.

One, I still bet DSP finds a way to fail and release six separate videos of him trying and failing to do something simple.

Two, no wonder he wants to play it for his halloween special.

I'm 99% sure PUBG has private servers.

Why not just make it his patron goal to play PUBG with fans if he clears the goal?

The way the game is structured it's super easy to play 20-30 minute matches where basically nothing happens and then oh oops he died from (take your pick of stream sniper, detractors trolling, bug, nothing I could do) because the games pretty dang hard.

All he'd have to do is die and make a fuss about raging and it'd entertain people well enough.

That game is easy money for streamers and he wouldn't even be the most autistic streamer playing it, some of the big PUBG names make DSP look fully functional.

Question for you all: At the way Phil's Patreon is decreasing, how long do you think he has left in terms of the fundraising site?
With Twitch and paypal donations his Patreon has become obsolete. Sure he has goals but they were never worth $1,250, his perks have sucked since day 1, and more people give him more money for nothing in return on Twitch. With how much his fans are giving him he might as well shut it down and just do a special event once a month as a thank you. Knowing Phil though he won't shut his page down as long as there is a dollar to be made. He will point to unfunded goals as proof he is not doing well even though it is easily provable he is making up to $4,000 a month on Twitch.

Phil should just play Night in the Woods if he wants to play it. If he's excited about playing the game, then theoretically, it should show though in his videos playing the game, making the content more engaging and fun to watch. I say theoretically because Phil is not the typical streamer, and even when he plays games he apparently loves, he always manages to cop an attitude and come off as an asshole.

I believe this is actually one of Phil's biggest problems currently. He makes these Patreon polls full of games he has little to no interest in playing, and it continues to show in his videos. He's not selling himself to any new viewers by playing these games he doesn't like/care about. He's scaring away new viewers with his nasty behavior , and pissing off the fans of these games he plays. A few of the games he's done for Patron's Choice are some of the worst and most infamous playthroughs he's done in recent memory (P3 being a prime example) , and people are paying top dollar for coverage of the game that is absolutely abysmal. Probably the saddest part is that viewers used to get Phil playing games he had no interest in playing for free. That's how we got the "great" playthroughs of MGS 2 and 3.

Eh, back during MGS he was at least around the 'gravy train' phase, where he actually had some amount of fun with games. Now Phil is pretty much against the wall. Needs those Day 1 views, but loses them on Day 2. Tries to do requested games on Patreon, ragequits or is just disinterested in so many of them. Dropping the Patreon might do some good, or at least pulling back on putting them on a paywall might help- he's become a slave to his patrons, even if his paypigs aren't aggressive about it.

Instead of attracting new supporters through twitch, he wants the same people supporting on Patreon to maintain their level of support there AND sub/cheer on Twitch. And tip him on PayPal. And buy merch. And buy new merch when it comes out. And donate new games. Also, he'd take a new ps4 pro or xbox 1x. He's not greedy though.

Ironically, one of the original reasons Phil created his Patreon was to allow him to play games that weren't as popular without worrying about views. Now he won't risk playing a game he thinks he will enjoy because he believes that it won't return maximum earnings.

I can't decide whether his motive is pure greed or that he really is in a dire financial situation.

Why would Phil play Night in the Woods when he admits he hates text based games he has to read?

Not to mention the game is honestly a pretty boring watch (but people did pay for Danganronpa).

It's a great game, but it'd be better played on his own time, not that he's played a video game in his free time in the past five years.
