By the time I got this for the PlayStation 2 I had all my attention diverted away from the PlayStation One, I swear everywhere I read about this game the PS1's logo was nowhere to be found. In 2009 I managed to snag a copy of this version, though I'm nowhere near as nostalgic for any of the Tony Hawk games past 1-3. I was also that loser who had the PS1 version of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3. Everything looks dreadful and plain-jane even compared to the previous two games on the same platform.

What are versions of games you had that nobody else knew/cared about?

Street Fighter Alpha 2 is...strange to say the least. My favorite quirk of this game is after the game does the whole "Ready...Fight!" thing, the game stalls for about 3 seconds, and then the round starts.

Edit: Forgot to mention the weird port was on the SNES.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 for GBA is also a case "um...why?" if you ask me.

They somehow managed to fit in all the characters and most of the essentials for their movesets, but the animation was missing all sorts of frames and the story mode was butchered beyond belief.

The ps1 port of X-Men Vs Street Fighter is a bit strange. The Arcade and Saturn ports have a 2v2 tag team system where you can swap out characters on the fly. Since the ps1 doesn't have as much ram as the arcade (the Saturn version use a RAM expansion cart to get it to arcade perfect), it turns into a best out of 3 for all fights. There is a hidden code that does restore the tag team function, but its limited to battling the cpu or another person with the exact same characters as the other player. Frames were cut down as well and has longer loads than the Saturn port.

This might have something to do with how much its sequel overshadowed it, But someone is always surprised when I bring up the fact that Diablo 1 had a playstation port. It is such a fascinating little thing. As is expected, the control scheme can make things tougher. Spell hotkeys are replaced with two slots, wonky movement with the D pad.
It is still an entirely playable affair, though. Once you get used to how the controls work, the base gameplay that makes Diablo 1 good is in there. But at this point I'd still suggest finding a copy for PC.

Yeah i played this version it actually has 3 more characters that weren't in the PS1/Dreamcast/whatever version which were Maki from Final Fight 2, Yun from Street Fighter 3, and Eagle from Street Fighter 1, (they are from Capcom vs SNK 2) although they released it for PSP later which had these characters and added Ingrid from Capcom Fighting Evolution, also Sakura voice in the GBA one is just sped up Ryu's Voice

Army Men Green Rogue for PS1.
Actually superior to the PS2 version (a major POS) but it's just an average game at best.

Shadow man for PS1 was really weird, it had really low resolution, the fps was horrendous, it was missing animations and the sounds were just low quality, some soundeffects and such were missing and there were many glitches with the sound. I don't understand why it was made for ps1 when they couldn't bring anything playable out.

Granted it's not a port but I've always found it baffling that the cannon sequel to a grimdark game like FF12 is a lighthearted DS game.

I suspect Terrifying 9/11 started as a legit Metal Slug port to the GBC that got shitcanned in SNK's bankruptcy.
It plays really quite well considering it's a Neo Geo to GBC conversion.

In a similar vein Dragon's Lair on the GBC

MORTAL KOMBAT: ADVANCE - Complete Guide on How to go Nearly Bankrupt via Shitty GameBoy Advanced Ports

I really wanted to give this game a chance but it was the product of two companies complacently scared of their own fruit and letting it rot on a shelf with reckless abandon.

Tekken Advance, a pretty good portable Tekken 3 that works quite well despite the lack of buttons.
